This is probably the greatest forum I have ever posted on.
First of all I'd like to thank everyone that posts and contributes for developing a great community, this is what these games need to grow and prosper.
Even looking at some of the other threads about people's daily lives there is great diversity in people from all walks of life and from all sorts of different regions (praise the internet). The way this forum is set up works well and the level of moderation is in my opinion perfect. I've come from other forums that are way too heavily moderated and some that are not at all, if you've ever read youtube comments you know what I mean. Only when things become disrespectful do the great and mysterious FFGjosh or FFGevan enter from the shadows which I've only seen happen a few times in my time here
I am encouraged by what I see to ask questions, pose ideas and seek clarification or opposing viewpoints. In other places I'm disinterested in engaging in a lot of the conversations because of the manner in which they are being conducted. Whether that is symptomatic of the posters themselves or symptomatic of the culture of that particular forum I am tired of the inflammatory, accusatory and disrespectful conduct that many people choose to exert behind the veil of anonymity that is the internet. I'm not trying to complain about the internet's misgivings per se, that would be beating a dead horse - because no-one will realistically be able to change that - but the fact that the large majority of posters on this forum choose to rise above that and act like mature people (I say people because I don't presume everyone to be an adult but one needs to exhibit a certain level of maturity to play this game) actually entices me to be a part of a community that I have come to respect, surrounding a game that I have come to love that involves a subject that I have loved for years - the great world of STAR WARS.
The level of response is the highest I've ever seen. Responses appear in minutes sometimes even seconds as opposed to hours, days or even weeks in some other places and the amount of response comes in great volume. With that comes diversity in opinion and breadth of knowledge which lends to the quality of what is provided and creates a generally definitive answer to most questions asked.
I only got into X-wing in the early part of this year but I've been posting on here and the Armada forum for a few months and have posted and involved myself more in that time than I did in multiple other places over a multi-year period.
So once again thanks to FFG for setting up this medium, thanks to STAR WARS and George Lucas for what FFG has been able to turn into a great thing and thanks to you the community for keeping this a great place.
