I'm sure all Walmarts will be selling product. That list is just for the stores participating in the special events.

I do think it's a little silly to play all this so close to the vest. It's not like we need to have any more excited added to this stuff.

I'm pretty sure FFG's usual marketing strategies aren't in the driver's seat for this expedition.

Oh I know this isn't FFG's call. I think it's silly on the part of Disney. Like there's not enough anticipation of these movies as it is, we need to keep people in the dark until the day the stuff comes out.

I guess the way I see it, there's already a barrage of new X-Wing stuff that's come out or is on the near horizon (Raider, Wave 7, Wave 8, Imperial Assault Carrier...), that trying to hide a special treat as a big, instantly-available surprise would be a really cool thing - were it not leaked and spoiled.

Although Toys R Us in the US has the core set available (mail order only), my bet is on Target having it. I'll probably be in line at midnight, there's 3 near me within reasonable driving distance doing this. ALL Toys R Us's will be open at midnight according to their website. I'll drop by there after the Target reveal.

So it looks like my local walmart is playing but none of the local targets. and since i know all the X-wing players in my community i doubt they will sell out of stuff even if they actually have X-wing stuff which i seriousely doubt. I was thinking target might have it as they used to carry "Stuff"... And maybe Barnes & Noble??

I think the idea is to stop people being completely burned out on the film by two years of endless merchandising.

Instead we get completely burned out by three months of super intense merchandising.

For people in Canada, some Toys R Us are doing midnight releases.

From what I saw on Reddit, a few copies got sold by mistake already. At Target. On clearance. (presumably some error from them discounting cores back when they had them.)

Has anyone simply just called Target that is participating in Force Friday and got a hold of one of their sales people and asked them? Or gone there physically and found a Target employee on the floor who looks like they smoke pot and asked them? None of them have any stakes in confidentiality. You just need to find an employee who is helpful and willing!

I did that this morning with Mini Mart and they said NOTHING is on the way from FFG, because they just got a full restock and so forth...

I would wait on driving and running all around for the new core set.

We know Targets will have the new core sets as that is where they have already been sold.

Yepers, I spoke with a manager at my local Target the other day, and he stated there is a FFG box but the area is locked off until the 2nd under "Pain of Termination". Seems plausible since all the pix have come out and they carried Xwing until last Xmas.

We'll see on Friday, yeah?

I talked to one of the kids and he looked it up...nothing in his system. this was yesterday.

Asking an employee is always the best way to get back room info. Back when I use to collect all the SW action figures (have over 350 unopened figures from 1994-2008 if anyone is interested in buying ) we use to go to all the local big stores and find a younger employee if they could check in back for any SW boxes from Hasbro. It was the only way to get the one or two per box figures to complete your set back then. Almost always they were willing to at least go look. Hoping at least some store around me carries it.
