Every MC80 is different. They're all special and unique in their own way and deserve equal treatment and respect. And certainly none of them deserve being called "fat". They're just differently scaled.
"Differently scaled"

Mine got shrunk by Disney/FFG, so yeah, yours probably is...
it could be perspective
it could also be that mon cals were originally just the space faring equivalent of cruise liners before the calamaris decided to retrofit in a bunch of weapons where the hot tubs used to be
not much room there for military grade standardization ![]()
Well, here's hoping we get lots of different ones for Armada eventually
Liberty class next though please!
Many actually were cruise liners. The Mon Cal's construction ethos however, made the ships particularly well-suited to conversion to military vessels. Lot's of redundant systems, backups, fail-safes, extremely strong hulls, and redundant shields, just as part of the "civilian package".
When they rebelled, they just slapped on weapons and tuned up the shields. One thing they don't really touch on is that Dac was one of the only worlds that told the Empire to get stuffed, and didn't immediately get slagged from orbit. This was before the Battle of Yavin even, which just further proves how badass MonCal ships were, in order to stave of the Imperial Fleet. It's also worth noting that the Death Stars next destination after Yavin was Dac, in order to wipe them out.
Edited by Bipolar PotterEnough of this fat shaming of Mon Cal ships! They're all beautiful in their own way.
They're not ASmk2's after all.

I think that's more a challenge for the more modeling minded hobbyists ![]()
though I do wonder if the liberty class is different enough to merit its own model. I'm not a big fluff-bunny, so all I know is that the liberty class was its own thing in Empire At War and the MC80 we're getting in Armada was the one Empire At War used to represent "Home One" (and it was huge)
I would totally buy a line of "variants ships" consisting of MC-80 Liberties, CR-92 Assassin corvettes, and the like, but I'm afraid we'll have to settle for picking some stuff up off of shapeways.
or "ace' (variant) packs ![]()
In my dreams fickle, only in my dreams.
Not all MC80's have the wing varient of Home One
MC80's Battle of Endor:

More Examples:
3 of the Mon Cal Cruisers at Endor are Home One variant MC80's: Home One, Defiant, and Independence.
Those are also the 3 titles we get with the MC80 pack.
The Liberty subclass was the most numerous, and the namesake of which was the 1st victim of the Deathstar 2 at Endor. So any of you with fond memories of X-wing: Alliance the video game, all those characters are now dead. Congrats! Except Ace Azzameen, who was on the Falcon with Lando.
She not fat just big boned. But she got it where it counts
This thread makes me identify with Mon Cal ships more than ever before.

It's not the size that counts, it's how you use it.

Idk, I wouldn't put a CR90 up against a Super Star Destroyer in any situation.

Cool! Lets have a race.

Why on earth do you say that? I feel almost certain we'll get a Liberty class, and hopefully (though perhaps it's a little less likely) a few more, such as...
The fist one on there. Love that thing.
MC80 just looks like a sorry excuse for a ship. It looks like a giant floating __

You should definitely consult a doctor if you number 2s look like a Liberty-class MC80 ![]()
I really hope we see the Liberty variant in this game. To be honest I like all the Mon Cal ships. And they were a huge help to the rebel alliance and will be what the rebels need in this game.
