Hey hey! First post.
My go to squad is quite a nasty Xizor list (got me top 8 in the two regionals I went to in Australia) but as the tournament season is calming down I thought I'd give something else a crack with the new ships.
I've had a few games with it and it's a hell of a lot of fun:
Jake Farrell - 33pts
- Push the Limit
- Veteran Instincts
- Proton Rockets
- Autothrusters
Horton Salm - 31pts
- Twin Laser Turret
K-Wing (Warden Pilot) - 36pts
- Twin Laser Turret
- Advanced SLAM
- Proximity Mines
- Extra Munitions
Runs at 100pts, so initiative can be quite an issue with Jake. The K-Wing is a lot of fun to fly and can definitely adapt to most situations with the load out - likely too many points though!
I think a Twin Laser Turret on Horton is absolutely amazing - for anyone that doesn't remember the old dog: When attacking at range 2-3, you may reroll any blank results. So basically a built in predator on a reasonably resilient body.
I actually think the squad has a fair amount of merit - the twin laser turrets are a pain and Jake is just generally awesome. Running at 100pts is a bit of an issue though. Playing around with the munitions would probably be a good idea - a few options would be just dropping the proxy mines + extra munitions on the K-Wing and whacking a recon specialist in it for the extra TLT modification. Could also drop them for an engine upgrade on Horton! A few ideas. Both of them also provide a better initiative bid for Jake.
I think the squad definitely needs some more testing - what do you guys think? Dropping the proxy mines on it a good idea?
