Opinions on Hound's Tooth?

... but manoeuvring fins are awful. I'd have vastly preferred a Juno-style 'reduce speed' option rather than a 'reduce turn to bank' one; that just screams Imperial Boba all over again - useful only if you mis-judged the correct manoeuvre to start with.

And half the triggering conditions are bloody well red to boot!

I did try the maneuvering fins paired with navigator, very Imp Boba esc, just to one side. Just set the dial to hard 3 and you can do any maneuver on the same side. It did help me when a B-wing barrel rolled to try and block me. Might still switch to EU in the future though.

Engine on the tooth is pretty amazing.

I honestly think the generic is better value than the named pilots(especially with bossk crew available), but it's a great ship.

I've been enjoying a nearly naked Latts Razzi. Her PS is devastating and physical bulk means she almost always draws my opponent's attention so that my real hammers can do their job.

I'm going to try out 2 Trandoshan Slavers and IG-88B with Mangler Cannon and Autothrusters this week. Am planning to run the Aggressor as a flanker using the YVs up the centre of the board. Have no idea of it will work but at least I'll get to practice using the YV dial.

you rogue, you ;)

Latts Razzi + bossk crew

Torkhil met tlt

2x Cartel Marauder (not sold on Khiraxz. But I like the looks so I'll try em a bit more)

If you miss with Latts you get a free tl, allowing your friends to use it wisely.

Torkhil is annoying as sin to begin with, tlt means he draws a lot of attention

Tried once with 2x Cartels. Worked fine. (very well even)

Next game I'll try 3x Z95 (black suns; all at ps3 seems nice)

Played a tournament today and went up against two tooled up YV's, Bossk & Latsi with various bits (feedback array, k4 & outlaw tech on both, plus others)

I had Kath (EU, PTL, K4), Palob (Bodyguard, Greedo, Ion turret) & 2 naked Binayre pirates

They were a challenge until you got behind them, then you can start to plink away. The match went down to the very last round (due to time), but managed to kill off the list with Kath still standing.

Not tried it yet, but the Scuttle gunship build with Bossk with that 180 degree arc looks like it's going to be a big winner. You're paying 4 points more for it than the Lambda (8 if you go for EU, but the Scuttle does have a better dial), but you get a lot for those 4 extra points.

What's a Scuttle?

Scum shuttle == Scuttle.

Would that be something like this:

Trandoshan Slaver (29)
Gunner (5)
Bossk (2)
Total: 36
With a 180 degree arc and possibly 2 attacks, it would be a shame to not spend the 2 points to add tactician.

Only fought against it so far but I had no issue slipping behind and staying there with red line who fired salvos of cluster missiles into its rear till it was dead.

I think using the 0 move will be important and your always gonna want that eu.

I played 3 games yesterday with:

32: Trandoshan Slaver w/ Greedo, Tactician

24: Syndy thug w/ TLT

24: Syndy thug w/ TLT

20: Cartel Marauder

I really liked the list. The hounds tooth kinda swims around like a hammerhead shark. When other ships try to get behind it, the marauder would chase them away and the TLTs would just throw shots all around. 32 hit points proved to be just too much for opponents.

EU is not mandatory like a lot are saying. This isn't a ship designed to whirl around the center of the board. Start it on the edge and very slowly starting turning inward. The arc is large enough that if you do that, there is no need for EU.

The biggest mistake to me is pumping to many pts into a ship like this. Figure out what it's role is and just spend the pts to do that role.

Imo, within a year, Slaver + Bossk + Gunner + Tactician will be one of the best builds in the scum arsenal. And for 6 pts more, I don't know why you wouldn't add in a Z95.

because awarding my opponent more points for crumpling the flying cereal box in exchange for a bandit squadron isn't my idea of value, even at half price

Also the way the points are slotted makes the Hounds' Tooth title something you have to build around and IMO it's not worth that much.

It'd be worth a lot more if the Nashta Pup carried over any EPT slot. Possibly even one crew; it was modified to take a passenger, after all. :)

I won a local tourney this weekend with moralo with hlc, tactician, outlaw tech and manoeuvring fins ( just because I had point spare). I paired him with tooled up boba with 2 proton bombs

I like tactician but I'm changing that to k4 as the hlc really didn't hit as often as it should have. Started him in corner and placed asteroids to creat a bottleneck and protect his rear. Very vulnerable though to the really agile ships so you need to meet them head on with the support and keep them occupied

Someone else was running a bossk ,gunner combo and it did work well until he came up against something that caused stress as then bossk couldn't be used

We've always been playing that Bossk works even if you're stressed- I think there's going to be a clarification in the next FAQ on how Bossk functions.

Looks like that has been clarified on another thread. You can use it when stressed

I have run this list recently, now, this is not for comments and corrections, it was just a list I threw together for the following reasons:

1. Want to run the new big ship

2. Want to make M3-A interceptors work

Moralo Eval: HLC/Anti pursuit laser/ Outlaw teck/ K4 security droid/ Inertial Dampeners

Transarli Point Veteran: Predator/ Hvy Scyk/ Ion cannon x2

As most other M3-As, they get taken out in one shot. However, in one game with pure luck, they kept big ships Ioned and did some damage. However, they usually get toasted.

The YV-666, did great. 12 health points total takes alot of damage and deals alot. Most of the time my action is to target lock. With the 0 red and inertial dampeners, the APLasers deal out enough damage to catch opponents off guard. Yes, double stress means I'm going to get lit up once I move, but, sometimes, this double stall tactic creates a rough traffic jam when facing lower pilots who sometimes won't clear the due to other ships clogging the flight path.

Not saying this is the best list ever, just, I find APL coupled with inertial dampeners works well.
