in a few weeks, im going to GM another meeting and since one session usually lasts about two hours i need two hours to fill and i wanted to introduce them to the 40k universe. These players are fresh slates they haven't ever heard of Warhammer 40k or even a D10 game. any suggestions on how to make them grasp it?

Throw 'em in the deep end as a Penal Legion unit after reading them the "It is the 41st Millenium..." blurb and watch them sink or swim... nothing like brining the ignorance of the masses to a game by having them actually ignorant about how savage the 41st Millenium really is.
