Rebel z-95s?

By period3, in X-Wing

I don't have luck with them either...

Part of it is my opponent, who really likes interceptors and tie fighters, and rarely flies ships with agility <3. It's very difficult to land damage with only two attack dice in those cases. I made a custom upgrade to help mitigate this, by letting the a-wing roll +1 attack dice to determine if there was a hit (but not to determine damage). This helps.

I would just fly A wings.

I originally bought 3 for a Han list, but haven't ever flown them with him as I've found that they're lots of fun with other stuff.

I've enjoyed:
YBBZZ

BXXZZZ

ABBZZ

2400BZZZ

290YYZZ

The two dice all around are pretty bland, yes, but their power comes in numbers and disposability. They help strip tokens, or block. They also just create confusion sometimes for your opponent, which can come in handy. They may not really compete with a B-Wing on average, but with some nifty flying and a little luck, they've done some crazy stuff for me in the games I've used them in.

I'm amazed at the number of times the Z in BBBBZ is the round MVP. By definition a "filler" ship is going to be a low-priority target and can live long enough to do surprising damage.

There are a few videos on youtube which show how in the right hands three or four Rebel Z-95's can be a monster, and a ship that you underestimate to your peril. I watched one the other day where a XZZZZZ list destroyed Chewie and Leebo, and another one where an EZZZ list did the honours as well.

They might look like flimsy little buggers, but they're not if they're flown properly.

Cheers
