open the blast doors!

Has anyone stated up an imperial blast door? I have a Wookiees PC that will want to try to open a blast door the old fashioned way, with his vibro-ax, and I would like some help on how to handle this. I have the mechanics difficulty for working the lock mechanism but I don't think that I have seen any other guidelines for armour or hull points/wound thresholds etc for doors?

Breaking down the door with a vibroaxe? I'd say that would be impossible, the door likely has armor which means he needs at least 10 damage to bypass 1 point of armor.

However forcing the doors open with the vibroaxe is probably possible. I'd make it easier than working the lock mechanism, but with native upgrades due to the fact that it may do nothing and damage the lock to the point where someone can't use mechanics on it anymore.

The vibroaxe would be much more likely to break than the blast door. Better off trying to use a cutting torch and get paid by the hour.

Taking a cue from TPM, when Qui-Gon Jinn is trying to cut his way into the bridge, when the interior blast doors are closed, I’d say that they have at least an Armor Rating of 1 or 2, which means you’d need Breach 1 or 2 to do much damage to them, or be capable of doing at least 10 or 20 points of personal-scale damage to exceed their Armor.

Beyond that, they would have a significant amount of Hull Threshold, maybe 6 or 7 points. So, beyond the Breach to be able to do any damage to them at all, you’d need to accumulate 60-70 points of personal scale damage in order to cut through them.

Watch how much work Qui-Gon is putting in while trying to cut through the doors. Then ask yourself what you would need to do the same, if you were a Wookiee and you didn’t have a lightsaber.

That's exactly my thought. I'd give blast doors an armour rating of 1 and a hull trauma of about 5 or 6, so without piercing or breach you had to deal 20 damage to the door to even scratch it.

Those things are designed to keep stuff like angry wookies with axes out.
