Rebel 4 ship Build. AF2, Neb, 2x CR90B

By KovuTalli, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hello Hive Mind, lately I've been running a 3 Neb, 1 AF, 2 A-wing List to great success (see 10-0 and 9-1) and some "Mild" Losses (See 7-3/8-2).

However I am thinking of changing this up to something like this:

AF2B + Mon Mothma + Intel Officer + Adv Projectors + XI7.

Neb-B Support refit + Intel Officer + XI7 + Salvation

CR90B Dodonna's pride

CR90B

2x A-wing for 298 or 2x Y-wing for 296. (A's to counter Rhymer/Yavaris blobs, Y's for Bid altho I'd want to give it away anyway so A's may be the better choice)

Objectives: Advanced Gunnery, Fleet Ambush, Superior Positions.

The Idea is to be second player, Gunnery lets me double tap with my Whale or Salvation if I choose to pick it instead but it'd probably be the Whale.

Fleet Ambush let's me quickly jump on one or two of his ship's whatever they are and hopefully gain an advantage early.
Superior Positions abuses the CR90's to flank and (hopefully) rack up double arc shots for more points.

Mon Mothma keeps everyone flying with use of Evades at every range. Intel always targets brace first if it's a good roll or evade if not, XI7 basically cancels out their redirect token.

Dodonna's pride to be a threat to any ship, I realize it is better with the man himself to fish for the "Best crits" (Maybe replace it with Paragon on Whale for the times it gets Adv Gunnery.)

Thought's Hive Mind?

Overload Pulse would work better than Dodonnas Pride I'm thinking. The you could probably trade the Intel Officer off the Salvation for Raymus Antilles.

What kind of formation do you intend to run?

Would Raymus not be better on AFII? as I usually bank a nav and engineering on Salv anyway , so Raymus would only be good after I spend one of those so earliest round 3 where as I'll get his use every round with whale.

i think a 4 ship Rebel fleet is always better served with 2 AFII's and the 2 other ships...

I'd be happy to go to a 2 or 3 ship build and throw fighters in and spam squadron command/s as they are on average worth more than a CF if you activate 2 or more squadrons - especially if B-wings. (At least to Rebels since we have no Black dice bar paragon or opening salvo, Red's aren't worth CFing too much if you can boost 2+ Squadrons instead 3 in 8 on a red or 6 in 8 on a black or blue.)

Overload and Dodonna's Pride work similarily : the goal being to force the opponent to exhaust defense tokens. (And the best way to do it is to ensure 2 arc shots, then fly away.)

Overload ensures it if you've failed your dice roll and inflict a single crit. Pride hopes to frce the opponent to spend defense tokens in order to mitigate a high damage roll (then take a crit to the face). I've been trying the 2 variants working in concert and that is usually a very scary prospect.

With an exhausted defense token ship, Dodonna's Pride either force him to take several damage on the side you're shooting at if he doesn't want to spend defense tokens or force him to spend (and discard them) and get a crit to the face anyways. It's a scary prospect :D
