Hello all, I ran a tournament last weekend using an app on my iPad and I am confused why it ranked players the way it did after the top cut. My understanding is after the top cut , in this case top 4, it essentially becomes single elimination and your final ranking decided based on when you get eliminated in the top rounds.

1st(after swiss) played 4th

2nd played 3rd

1st beat 4th

2nd beat 3rd

1st and 2nd played

1st won, winning the day.

2nd is now in 2nd place

3rd in 3rd

4th in 4th

But the app has 2nd and 3rd flipped due to difference in MoV. That isn't right is it ?

No, that's not right. 2nd seed, having lost the final game, ends up second place.

Note also, that 3rd & fourth seeds (in your example) finish "Top 4", not third & fourth. As tourney points, MoV, SoS, etc, are basically over when the cut is made, the two players who lost the Top 4 match are not ranked one ahead of the other, they simply don't advance beyond Top 4.
