In real life, if someone says, "we'll sell our product to anyone with enough money," they don't usually mean "we'll sell our product to any ONE person with enough money, but no more than one person." So, I don't think "any" necessarily means "just one."

There's a big difference between "anyone" and "any one." Both in pronunciation and inference ^_^ Oh, and, as seen, spelling, too!

In french (i know the translation can be messy), it's :

"add +2 to every Combat checks which are taking place in your neighborhood till the end of the current phase"

If it can help.

It can't. We are all doomed to suffer ambiguity for all eternity.

how about using it in the street area with the terrible experiment? while the monsters aren't on the board, they're in that area. and more importantly, the investigator intending to fight them is in that area, and thus the combat checks are made in that area (even if the monsters aren't somehow considered there)... right?

I say no, if mostly for the reason that you can't do so with the Flute of the Outer Gods. Sure they're in the same non-existing space as you, but that space is non-existant. Therefore, it's not in your neighborhood...

Thanks, Ecno you just beat me to the punch gui%C3%B1o.gif

@ Taurmindo...the thing that's foiling your attempt is right on the Rumor card: "These monsters do not move, are not considered on the board, and do not count against the monster limit."

Lots of useful questions here and some answers.

Just how nigh is the FAQ these days?

It would be great to at least have an annually updated online FAQ document from FFG, if a comprehensive printed one is out of the question.

During the setup phase, how does Bob Jenkins is using his abilities for Common Objetcs ?

He's supposed to get 2 random common objects, and its ability says to draw an extra card when drawing common object and to chose one.

So, is he drawing 2+1 cards and keep 2, or is he drawing twice (1+1 and keep 1) ?

2 + 1 and keep 2.

Oh, so they have internet on computers now! - Homer (Simpson)

I'd have thought using the FFG Site and the Wiki would be the simplest way to have an FAQ. Then all FFG have to do is put an instruction with each game to visit www.whatinthenameofcthuluisgoingonhere.com instead of printing a number of expensive booklets to add to each expansion.

Inevitably every FAQ answer is going to have a follow up "but what if Ashcan Pete has the flu AND wears the stockings of self doubt"

Surely an online, living, breathing, howling FAQ is the future.
