Bossk+HLC+mercenary copilot=????

By Krakken23, in X-Wing

If you're going HLC, I'd take Calc over the Co-Pilot.

Even then, HLC is very expensive considering you're only going to be able to use it out of the primary arc of the brown space whale. Bossk is already the most expensive pilot, can die depressingly quickly to concentrated fire, and needs other upgrades to truly shine. I honestly wouldn't touch HLC with him, let that be Moralo's gig.

How about Mangler then?

Only if you need your EPT slot for something specific. I prefer to use an EPT to help generate Bossk crits, since they work in all of his 180 arc. Mangler is the fallback option for when the build requires an EPT that isn't one of those two. And it's not bad, you're trading off needing to roll a focus to crit in 180 so you can always crit in primary. But I definitely prefer using the EPTs when I can. Keeping enemies in your primary arc is more difficult, and it also means the low agility Bossk has to charge right at the enemy to achieve it, which might mean getting caught in a joust.

I feel like Bossk Calc rec Spec with k4 is the best build (maybe with a greedo)

So... hypothetically...

Bossk, Calculation, Mercenary Co-pilot, Heavy Laser Cannon

Shooting at ranger 3, three hits and a focus, which you change to a critical hit with Calculation. Then you change another hit to a critical hit with the Merc. Then you change one of the critical hits to two hits.

Total of four hits and a critical hit?

Ouch.
