I will just take this opportunity to voice my disappointment that the K-Wing and Punisher only come with one Extra Munitions card each.

FFG has done a great job including multiples of cards that are intended to fix various shortcomings in the game, so that with one purchase I've been able to breathe new life into prior purchases. And honestly, the main reason I bought another Y-Wing last week was so I could try a set of Torpedo carriers all with the new discount. But I can only field one of these without the unsavory need to proxy the card, or buy multiple copies of a ship (when there's sooo much new product out there and on the horizon).

This seems to go against the designers' clear intent to revitalize the munitions aspect of the game.

Don't forget that each ship comes with a brand new bomb token set but only 1 copy of each so if you run Cluster Mines or Conner Net with Extra Munitions, you might just need another copy of each ship.

Honestly I felt the same at first but after I thought about it a bit the lack of an extra card makes sense. After all, munitions don't see widespread use and that's unlikely to change even after Extra Munitions. For one thing there's what, 6 ships in the game that could actually benefit from it? And none of those 6 are likely to be fielded in multiples WITH munitions on board; 4 Bombers is probably the only "common" pre-7th list that could really benefit from the card and how often do you see that fielded? I think the intent, for now, is to make a sole munitions carrier more viable and for that purpose 1 card per expansion pack seems reasonable. Most people buy at least 2 copies of any non-large ship, in my experience, so 1 Extra Munitions card per seems appropriate.

There could be a multitude of reasons why there isnt an extra card in the packs. Just keep in mind, FFG is a business and in order to succeed, all businesses must maximize profits!

You make some good points, but I think the OP's point is that we would see more of these types of lists with multiple Extra Munitions.

However, the designers do have a track record of packaging really cool upgrades in only on expansion pack (Starviper's Autothrusters and Lambda's Sensor Jammer come to mind). Still haven't made the plunge into buying a second copy of either of those, but I do have my two TIE punishers. Once I get a K-wing I'll be set!

Agreed, K-wing and TIE Punisher should maybe have gotten more bomb tokens and an extra EM card. The bomb thing I knew was coming, the EM did surprise me.

FFG spoiled me by having the Aggressor come with two Autothrusters.

I would love to run 2x Y-wings with Bomb Loadout/Proximity Mines/Extra Munitions. I just wish I didn't need an extra K-wing to do it.

Sure you can. Third part tokens are explicitly allowed in the tournament rules.

The difference there is that the size and shape of Focus and TL tokens is irrelevant to gameplay. But bombs, mines, asteroids, etc. all have to be an exact size and shape. And an unofficial token could be subtly resized to try and gain an advantage.

That's the case for movement and range templates too, but 3rd part versions of those are also allowed.

Rebels probably get more use out of turret secondaries than ordinance, which is why there were two twin laser turrets.

Twin Ion Engine mkII can be used on 59 different Imperial Pilots. So I can understand why we got 2 of it rather than 2 Extra Munitions

Possibly 62 different pilots if the TIE_/FO expansion includes 3 named pilots.

I have 4 of both and I want to get more but not for $10-$12 each off eBay. Hopefully the come in another set eventually like Prox Mines, as before the IG's they only came one in each Firespray.

It was like an extra few cents of cardboard, come on FFG. Maybe I'll try sending customer support an email and begging/offering to buy them on their own.

I guess one ship will run quad Prox Mines, one will run quad Conner Net, one will run quad cluster mines.

I'm not too worried about more copies of Connor Net and cluster mines. The Ghost comes with another set of both.

Also I like what they've done with the K-wing and Punisher. They're good ships to recommend for newbies because they come with most of what you'd want right in their box.

Not true. Maximising profits would be the GW or WizKids approach. They'd make more money by halving the effort they put into design, doubling their yearly releases, simplifying the paint jobs, putting no duplicate cards in packs (so one TIE/x1 and ATC in the Raider, one Autothruster in the Viper, one Chardaan Refit and one Test Pilot in Rebel Aces), abandoning fixes in lieu of pushing new releases via power creep and letting the Star Wars brand do the work. Oh, and hike the price of any ship that's high points so people can't use the two ship meta to get the game too cheaply.

FFG needs to pay all its costs and then a decent profit helps. It doesn't need to squeeze every last penny out of whatever it can find to succeed.

Oh, FFG is trying to maximize profits. They figure if you treat the customer well, you'll get more business and more market share, therefore more profit. What they're not doing is trying to maximize short-term profit, which is what GW has been doing. It has taken a while, but their methods have steadily eroded support for the company, while FFGs have enhanced the number and loyalty of its customers.

I never begrudge a company making money as long as I get value for what I spent, GW has been selling you less for more money for a long time but recently it's ridiculous they upped the price of a pre existing kit simply because they changed the base it comes with.

End of the day they want sell these new ships they just paid to have made and shipped over so they need to give you some incentives to buy.

GW would sell the tokens as a limited run for as much as the ship.

Considering there are people that buy multiple copies of ships, for whatever reason, it isn't much of a problem. I suspect any large ordnance carriers in the future will come with the extra munitions card and tokens. Scum and villainy have yet to get a heavy bomber.

I only buy one of each expansion, so for that means ill get two copies of extra munitions and the tokens - one for the punisher abd the k-wing.
