Last night going over the epic tournament rules in the set up it states that the first player choose two rocks.

Places the first and then the second within range 1 of the first.

I guess I'm just making sure by asking.

So that second rock can be touching or just about that first rock?

In a sense I guess your kind of making one big asteroid.

That's how we did it last night game.

Also we made sure that when the next player placed his it wasn't within range 2 of any of the other rocks.

As it states something along the lines cannot be places within range 1-2 of a previously places asteroid

So did we do both parts correctly?

Yeah, sounds like you did it correctly. The general idea seems to be that you place two rocks very close together, acting like one huge rock sort of, but then the gaps between that pair and any of the other pairs are larger than normal.

Agree. You did it right on both Counts.

I'd noticed that you can place asteroids any distance from a neutral edge, but hadn't noticed this change to the placement rules.
