Hey guys.

I picked up the starter set a couple of weeks back, and only today I realised that there are the odd smudges of ink that I'd like to tidy up on the TIE fighters and a rather ugly silver mark on the X-Wing where the painter appears to have caught a spot with their brush and not gone back and tidied it.

I don't want to repaint the entire model, but don't mind tidying them up myself.

Does anyone know any paints that match the original colour schemes of the X-Wing and TIE Fighter?

I've checked my paint collection and none match up, and I've always found that mixing paints myself to match the colour is sometimes quite risky as the shades can alter slightly as the mix dries on the model.

Apologies if this is in the wrong area, I didn't see a section aimed at repainting so I thought here seemed safe enough.

I soaked an A wing in Purple Power over night and it only removed the ink wash. You can give that a try. For thd silver I don't know what to do. If it's paint more drastic measures are needed. You might try a VERY mild solvent (odorless thinner) on a cotton swab and rubbing the errant paint splotch.
