What do you do for a "day job?"

By Plainsman, in X-Wing

Research scientist.

I work for the Strategic and Tao Group. We own, manage and run high end clubs, hotels, casinos and restaurants globally.

For fun and a change of pace I help organize Paizo's Pathfinder RPG big Con events.

But I am really proud of what I did in the late 80s to 90s, which was being an editor and contributor to West End Games D6 Star Wars, we kept the Star Wars flames lit and much of what West End created later on made it to EU and Wookieepedia and is now helping fuel Fantasy Flights games.

So there is that. :)

I'm an orthopaedic surgeon.

Or, as I prefer to say, I cut people :D

Oh that's what my mom does.

She's scary.

I'm a postie. Unlike some, I don't drop my shipments at the first sign of an imperial cruiser either.

I'm a space satellite engineer

I like to think posting on here during the day is still work related

Administrative/clerical work for the Federal government by day, part-time professional artist at night after I get dinner cleaned up and the kids in bed.

I have put X-wing miniatures on my desk at work as bait, but no takers. I did also put Wings of Glory minis on my desk, and found out one of my co-workers is interested.

Storyboarder and animator.

I'm an evaluator. At the moment, my job is mainly working with federal grants and contracts to ensure accountability and transparency.

No wonder you are also our SNARK-Master!

GOooo!

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

That may be the truth, but if you knew whether or not it was, I'd have to kill you.

IE what is your occupation?

I'm a high school mathematics teacher, Ive taught everything from grade 7 math all the way through Calculus II!

(Statistics is an evil part of mathematics as it can be manipulated to show what you want! Probababilities are cool!) :)

To keep this XWing related, Ive been trying to figure out cool ways to incorporate this game into my classroom! Geometry and probabilities seem to be the best links!

I am also a teacher. Currently hard materials but started as physical education teacher, then moved to classroom teacher, then moved to science teacher. My school has recently bought a laser cutting machine and i am now able to cut my own acrylic tokens and range rulers  .

Floor co-ordinator in a government lockbox ...

I average around 12.5k keystrokes an hour with less than a .2% error rate..

Warehouse supervisor for a large medical supplies company.

Semi-retired fire protection designer. I design the true "first responders" in case of a fire.

graphic designer / prepress engineer in the printed advertisement industry. I get to sit at a computer all day and draw. Can't beat that. Love my job.

Sleep...

Paramedic. Probably the only one on this forum.

Also, off topic?

Used to be one too (though did not go far with it). Also used to be a martial arts instructor but that was only ever part time. The two skills go well together.
