Much of why I love to wave my pessimism boner around here is because I deliver mail for the post office.

The postman who delivers my mail always seems like he's in a good mood.

I could try to make it sound fancier than it is, going on about how I work in Logistics and all the various things I've done in my time there or I can just call it what it is.

Target Flow Team Member.

When you first hired on with Target, did they make you watch that BS anti-union propaganda video? That video cracks me up! So transparent.

Felt bad for the almost 18,000 people who lost their jobs, but I sure wasn't hurt to see those 133 Canadian Targets go under.

Why not?

As much as I would love to answer your question, I'm afraid that this forum is not the proper place for the political debate that would surely follow my expressing my views on that particular subject.

I am a master's level mental health councilor and suicide prevention specialist working with the department of defense.

My Brother-in-Law had some tough years in Iraq and Afghanistan - Purple Heart and all - but thanks to people like you, my Sister, Nephews and the rest of us still have him in our lives.

Thank you.

Electrical Engineering undergraduate degree, followed by Computer Engineering master's degree before getting the day job. The first few years of work were spent primarily writing VHDL code for Xilinx FPGAs. I took a few years off to work on my PhD dissertation with the almost-comprehensible title of "Motional Current Velocity Control of Piezoelectric Transducers with Class D Power Switching Amplifiers". Since coming back to work full time a year and a half ago, I have been doing power amp hardware testing, CCA design, digital signal processing, power electronics, and generally anything related to underwater SONAR.

In 10 years when I answer this question again I hope to say that I'm running my own company selling high-end home theater speakers specializing in powered loudspeakers. :D

Also, I can juggle 5 balls pretty solidly, although I spend far more time on MathWing and X-wing in general than juggling these days. ;)

I worked for Nature's, Wild Oats, then Whole Foods for almost 13 years. The last seven years with Whole Foods I was a store graphic artist. I left WFM in May, struggled through some unemployment before landing a PT gig at a local independent pet supply shop. I make much less money now but the change was needed, and as a plus I'm downsizing excess material possessions to make ends meet and also finance my X-wing addiction.

I'm trying to do more freelance artwork, as I've worked with numerous marketing and liquor reps doing chalkboard art for events and displays (akin to a part of the work I did at WFM).

Recently I've been working with Weird City Games in PDX, producing illustrations for a resource-gathering boardgame that will launch a Kickstarter in late September.

In lieu of a romantic relationship or child-rearing, I seem to have cats. Yes. Yes there are definitely some cats here.

I'm a Ranger Instructor in the Mountain phase of the US Army Ranger School. I enjoy long walks up steep mountains, throwing artillery simulators, and assessing casualties during actions on the objective in a simulated combat environment. I teach doctrinal tactics at the Grunt level of understanding, breaking it down Barney style, in order to get through to the new Lieutenants and Privates that come through the course thinking they know it all. They still mess it up. The FTX every cycle is a new adventure, with equal parts nature hike and poorly directed, low-budget war movie. Think Platoon meets the Blair Witch Project and Strange Wilderness:

An Army Platoon that has problems working together gets lost in the woods for ten strait days looking for bad guys to shoot blanks at, but are attacked by a phantom force of enemies whose intention is grading their performance while simultaneously looking for Bigfoot. Deprived of sleep and food, the students trudge on, wondering if they will ever escape the Mountains that have trapped them.

I'm jealous, this sounds like fun!!!
