It's finally happened we've gone past the £20 price point for special characters and skipped up to £50.
If anyone ever tells you x-wing is too expensive link them to that.

I have no words fit for a public forum.
...So they're hitting Pardulon and Andrea's price point with miniatures that are half the size and poorly designed?
Hey, cool - makes my purchase of a Hound's Tooth, 3 Kihraxz and2 Scyks earlier this week look much less ridiculous
Right I spent £64 on wave seven ships and got way more for a similar amount of money.
GW jumped the shark for me when they released the Necron Obelisk, a $160 plastic model kit, that required an $85 book so you could use it on the table top.
...
You know, sometimes I miss playing 40k. Then GW does stuff like this, and I stop looking back.
Thats like the 3rd model to wield Ghal Maraz, Boy, that hammer is like the town bike!
Seriously, GW?
"Bloodthirster fans amongst you will be pleased to hear that this kit is perfect for building a customised Bloodthirster!"
Oh, you want Bloodthirster with standing legs instead of leaping? Then buy a Bloodthirster for £70 and buy Skarbrand for £80 for spare parts! That makes perfect financial sense!
Edit: woah, wait... even BETTER, the Skarbrand kit actually includes one of the sprues from the Bloodthirster kit anyway, and just replaces the sprue with wings... so £10 more for replacing just ONE SPRUE?!
Edited by FTS GeckoUrgh i know it's literally become add a sprue up the price £10.
Replace the base up £3 just because.
All I have to see is "Required tools" for me to say nope. Man, I'm glad I'm lazy.

This is you when you buy Games Workshop.

This is Games Workshop when you buy Games Workshop.

40K 8th will either redeem or break GW. If they totally overhaul it, and release steamlined kits that are cheaper and can put bodies on the table (but not have every_single_weapon option to puff them out), if they overhaul the rules from scratch, and maybe reduce costs.
Maybe they'll last longer than 5 years.
Otherwise Sorry, GW is going to be a dead dinosaur before too long. Too many GW refugees...
and by overhaul from scratch. 40k needs it. It's not had a real overhaul since 3rd, and that wasn't so welcome...
Edited by DariusAPB40k is a cluttered mess a small skirmish rules set never designed to handle battles involving a hundred minis, it does need an overhaul but not the age of sigmar treatment.
Problem is they've out right said they won't reduce prices they are still pushing the idea only 20% play and the rest just collect they said this in the last shareholders meeting.
When you read how many flgs are dropping them because their sales agreement is draconian and how tournament organizations are using KoW or sticking with 8th instead of adopting AoS it paints a grim future for north American sales in the future.
The board only cares about its dividends not the company's health and will run it into the ground then retire rich.
Seriously, GW?

Why can't you just use the Skarbrand model as a regular 'thirster?
Oh yeah, that stupid "Old-One eye" headsculpt.
Sigh.

This one takes the biscuit all right. How on earth would you store it and transport it. It would need it's own carry case! I'm assuming it's supposed to be used in a game, but how you'd manage that without breaking the model at some point is beyond me.
The thing I liked about the older plastic models was they were robust and if you knocked one off the table, it would generally bounce. I'd be scared to move this beast on the table for fear of knocking it over and busting bits off. It just looks too fragile to be used. I think GW has well and truly lost the plot this time.
It's sad because I used to really enjoy 40k, and still enjoy the odd 1st/2nd ed game. There is a lot of nostalgia there, but they are running it into the ground so badly it's painful to watch.
40k is still good. Mostly thanx to Forgeworld rather than GW. FW even made an AOS scroll compendium for the frikkin' Chaos dwarfs! yay! to bad it's for AOS...
Forge world actually cares, which is why 30k being taken over by GW worries people you can easily believe their plastics will be as expensive as forge world's resin kits.
Yeah, my only purchases re 40k over the last 12 months were forgeworld. MKIV scouts and MKIV command squad. Painted for Raptors.
The only games I play... Killteam, which I maintain is a better less cheese filled game than the current mainline 40k.
I suspect that Imperial Assault will replace that. And.. well, I LOVE MY RAPTORS AND CRIMSON FISTS!
I still enjoy watching my crimson-lysander get into close combat, and my raptors in killteam have done so much crazy **** in their career that... well it's a joy to recount. Space Marine Sniper-sternguard with razorback support is awesome.
GW's running 40K into the ground becomes a sore point because of this.
Edited by DariusAPBKill team works well because 40k was designed as a skirmish game you Arnt spending 30 minutes just doing your movement.
I remember third and fourth ed you'd never see more than 30 models in an army unless it was orks, now it's no less than 50 and it bogs the game down horribly even though I'm well versed in the rules the average game was three hours not including setup and clean up you just lose interest.
I was never that interested in apocalypse games and hate that they've allowed titans and super heavies into regular games just to sell models.
Yeah, even flyers - while thematically making sense didn't fit well.
Yeah and with typical GW tactics they left flyers too strong for years as virtually no one had AA, then when sales dipped they gave everyone AA making that flyer far less useful.

Who needs GW miniatures anyway? ![]()
Invisibility spam is the worst, and directly why I quit anything but oldhammer and killteam.
That and the apparent over-love of eldar.
With certain characters (severin loth, and Tiggy has a good chance) you can guarantee getting invisibility, which means you can only hit on a 6+ AND CAN'T USE TEMPLATES AT ALL!!!
put that in a group of grav centurions and just for laughs the overcheap special character inquisitor so you can't even drop pod kill before casting and you have a stupid OP deathstar unit.
People who complain about TLT's will actually die from coronaries trying to play against this.
It's not fun, and even though i get it, non tournament, everyone plays to win and this is just one of many stupid combos.
There is also the iron hands chapter master on bike with certain wargear, and flyrants.
The game then becomes reductio ad absurdia to only these power lists, because if you aren't playing them then you will just get roflstomped.
Hell, I've been told my Drop pod assaults and using a razorback in killteam are cheesy (I semi accept the razorback, as by jove it does it's job well).
