Tie-Bomber Build Challenge, (for those who are interested.)

What is the best Tie-Bomber Build. The rules are, the list must include at least two Tie-bombers.

No One wants to except the challenge?

Before wave 7 I had some fun with 3 scimitar each with a proxy mine, 2 academy and Howlrunner. I plan to drop howl to an Academy and add EM to each of the bombers. So many other things still to try though and so few hours in the day.

5x scimis (16)

1x Howl (18)

=98 points.

Run it like a normal swarm and gives you initive. While you lose on a ship and 5 green dice, you gain 12 hull from a 6 black 1 howl swarm list.

5x Scimitar Squadrons, 10 Ion bombs via extra muntions.

Did this really need a separate thread?

I've been using the below list for a while:

Jonus - Swarm Tactics, Shield Upgrade

3x Scimitar - Extra Munitions, Cluster Missiles, Seismic Charges

A fun list that rewards formation flying.

no such thing as "best" never was and never will be unless you define your teams more specifically <_<

for example, naked Scimitar spam + howlie will spank the crap out of conner Scimitars but would they perform as well against the 2-ship meta?

of course, nothing's "better" than your opponent's face after you've dropped off 5-seismic charges and then 5k away from a joust

still a fantasy for me sadly :( (need 5 bombers...)

Just two Bombers? Well let's go with the two best ones since the TIE MkII just came out (and PtL with 3-Bank + Barrel Roll is actually pretty useful!).

There's nothing quite as satisfying as pulling a 3-Bank past someone, dropping Cluster Mines on them, and then being able to PtL Barrel Roll out of their arc. Jonus and Rhymer stick close if Rhymer wants to use his Plasma Torps, otherwise they can function pretty well independently. Rhymer can also use his Adv HMs at Range 1-3 with a TL/F combo too for taking out a VIP B-Wing, E-Wing, or Interceptor (maybe even Vader now that I think of it). Jonus gets the Flechettes just to have some teeth at range after his mines are gone.

And, I mean, who doesn't love a PtL/AT Royal Guard Pilot?

If you switched out the Mangler for an ion cannon, you could switch Jonus cluster missiles for Flechette and Proton rockets.
