4 x Scimitar Bombers with Homing Missiles, Seismic Charges, and Extra Munitions is better than having Jonus in my opinion. I've flown Jonus successfully, but he can be the easy target in your list. I like this list much better.
The problem with generic bombers remains getting a lock on a high PS pilot - thats why I lije using them either with bombs or cluster missiles - which at R2 allow you to dart up close (bombers are still pretty fast). As a plus, they synergise best with jonus' ability. I'd probably only take one spread and extra munitions, though -after two salvos of missiles, someone's dead and/or k-turns star happening and seeing bombers go up with missiles still in the tubes is painful.
Clusters, Seismic Charges and extra munitions is nice and cheap.
Also - with twin ion engines mkii and advanced homing missiles, there may finally be a practical use for major rhymer
