This is the forum's fault: 4x K-Wings (with KKK TLT bonus list)

You're all at fault for this, I have four K-Wings and couldn't be happier. I love the design FFG managed and I'm thrilled with the way the ship handles. I mean, seriously, they get called in for a reason:

I'm a little biased but I think that's freaking cool. However! While I'm keen to employ all four in Epic matches very soon, I was wondering if it would be possible to use all four in a Standard match. The best I can come up with is essentially just a Smash and Grab job:

2x Warden Squadron Pilots (2x 23)

— Intelligence Agent (2x 1)

2x Warden Squadron Pilots (2x 23)

— Intelligence Agent (2x 1)

— Autoblaster Turret (2x 2)

Hundred points on the nose! 36 total HP, up to four dials flipped at the beginning of the Activation Phase, and two Autoblaster Turrets to gang up on the likes of Soontir Fel, Darth Vader, and IG-88!

Now, if you're not keen on running them quite so barebones, I think I can help you out there. In my mind, a 3x TLT K-Wing list has a bit more bite to it!

All right, now we're talking. Only three Wardens loses a chunk of health, but I think they can make up for it in damage output!

2x Warden Squadron Pilots (2x 23)

— Intelligence Agent (2x 1)

— Twin Laser Turret (2x 6)

— Advanced SLAM (2x 2)

Warden Squadron Pilot (23)

— Intelligence Agent (1)

— Twin Laser Turret (6)

— Advanced SLAM (2)

— Proximity Mines (3)

—> 99 points to hopefully move before other PS2 pilots. Use the IAs to SLAM->block, ASLAM to take TLs for the following rounds, and of course the one Prox Mine is extra help against Fel, Whisper, or their like.

I'm liking that 3 special-K build w/ IA and those prox mines are devastating when placed at the right time. And the 3 TLTs can strip tokens fast.

Not to be weird but I think it should be called 3K or K3 over KKK for obvious reasons. Just looks bad.

On the 4K build, I'd dump the Autoblasters and Intelligence Agents for a Seismic on everybody. YMMV, of course.

Or do one with a TLT and one with Ion Bomb?

You've inspired me. I didn't know what I wanted to build list wise with these guys. You've also put me in the poor house as I have to go buy at least one more, likely three. Blessdamn you :P

Re: dropping the Intel Agents, I would've liked to free up points for more offense, but I've already had them save my neck plenty of times! It's surprising the difference it makes when you know where a non-turret ship is going to be pointing. Makes blocking a lot easier too! SLAM is an unprecedented level of manoeuvrability, and if you can SLAM out-of-arc then it doesn't matter that you aren't shooting either! Especially if it points you to take advantage of your Turret next turn, leaving someone pointed the wrong way after you've pulled two 2-Turns.

The funny thing about K Wings is that their primary weapon turrets counter TLT Y-Wings/HWKs. If you close to range one you still get to fire and they don't unless they have primary arcs on you.

So 4 of them is a decent counter play. 4 Autoblaster turrets to deal with Soontirs and other aces, 4 bids to PS 4 to get above PS 2 Y-Wings. Various combos of bombs and such.

Or 3 Warden Squadrons and Miranda Doni with 2 points leftover, probably best put into Intel Agents for SLAM blocking.

Love the TLT meta. Much more diversity and interesting list options.

I'm a big fan of the TLT shakeup too. I'm starting to think a pair of Wardens with IA and AbTs are a solid combo against both non-K TLTs and High-AGI Aces. The question then becomes, what to run with them? One big ship, one Ace and filler, or another pair of offensive generics? I'm leaning towards two TLT Golds or two FCS Blues right now.

No joke there, FFG are the worst kind of evil: I'm utterly devoted to their plastic cult haha. And the Conner Net is RIDICULOUS. I went with the Prox in the 3x Warden list for a point of initiative but I'm thinking with the IAs it won't matter and a Net might be more worthwhile.

I mean, look at the size of this thing (I feel like I've said that about everything in this Wave except the Kihraxz lol)

Even one of those is going to make a difference, and even if it doesn't quite land on or in front of someone it can easily clog a full lane in the middle of the board.
