Rulebook out on Amazon for USD 37,77

By egalor, in Rogue Trader

Just to make it known to you: the Rogue Trader is out on Amazon, for USD 37,77 only.

This is an advertisement of a FFG product, yes, will you ban me? :)

I canceled my amazon order and ordered from FFG for an insanely high amount of money...

Why? The price at Amazon is 20 bucks lower.

Because Amazon is unreliable when it comes to new release gaming books. They don't ship on time They change the availability without clear reason and they are know to cancel pre-orders as "no longer available" while simultaneously reposting the item under a slightly different name.

Interesting, but they have removed the pre-order, and say "Order now". It will ship on 12th or 13th October. We'll see (20 bucks are worth a few days wait). :)

Works out at the same price as I preorder it in the UK £25 but we still have to wait until the 22nd :(

Rog.

oh I live in Switzerland so I had to order from Amazon Uk, which gave me a delivery window from 22. oct to 2. nov.

I am impatient, and I get angry when other people talk about stuff I want, but cannot have.

Amazon had previously listed my estimated delivery date as 10/30. Now that the In stock date has been changed to 10/12, I'm happy to see that they updated my estimated delivery date to 10/14. Means that unlike BSG Pegasus, I pre-ordered early enough to get one of the first batch and won't be waiting for another batch.

I pre-ordered Rogue Trader from Amazon back in July. I still don't have the book, nor have I received any updates. I checked my order status, and it was still pending with no definite release date.

Woke up this morning to find an email from Amazon saying my order will be shipped on the 12th. They don't expect me to recieve it until around November 16, but that's what I expect from living down in New Zealand and taking the cheapest shipping option.

Well, I wouldn't hold your breath about it shipping in the next week or two. I pre-ordered from Amazon and got absolutely no updates other than it was delayed. I finally emailed them directly yesterday. I got the following reply:

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that ordered was delayed. I've checked and looking into your order, I see that "Rogue Trader RPG: Core Rulebook" is back-ordered. I'm sorry about this delaywe certainly didn't expect that this would happen.

Please keep in mind that the availability and shipping time frames listed on our web site are estimates, not guarantees. While we do our best to adhere to these estimates, our inventory is constantly changing based on information we receive directly from our suppliers.

It appears that the current availability estimate listed on our web site may not yet reflect the most recent information provided to us by our suppliers. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you.

Although the shipping method is faster, it'll still take some time to get the book. As soon as we receive more stock, we'll ship your order and send you an e-mail to let you know.

Keep in mind that your item may be available via an Amazon Marketplace seller (you'll be able to see if this is the case by conducting a normal product search on Amazon.com). If one of our partner sellers has the item, feel free to cancel your outstanding order and place a new one with Marketplace merchant.

I can confirm that we still expect to ship your order by October 23. It should be delivered to you by October 23.

So basically... if you ordered from Amazon (seller is Amazon), chances are good that you are looking on or after October 23rd.

Not true at all, they shipped mine out yesterday. Amazon probably had a lot of orders because they can afford to not mark it up as much as a more specialized store, and are waiting for the next shipment from Fantasy Flight Games.

I preordered in August. Then I sent Amazon a couple of nasty emails about not having updated their delivery date, and they replied by updating my delivery date to 10/14 and upgrading to two-day shipping.

Shenanigans I say, shenanigans!

My copy was preordered at the beginning of June and they sent an email out stating that they'll be sending it along around the 22nd. You, sir, have obviously bumped me and I demand satisfaction... or a snickers -they really satisfy. Perhaps I too should write nasty letters to folks. It seems to be the in thing to do.

I just walked into my FLGS and they had 2 copies of RT on the shelf. Despite being slightly more expensive, I went ahead and bought it. I've cancelled my Amazon order. That's the first and last time I'll pre-order anything from Amazon, since they obviously can't count (and get enough copies to fill all their pre-orders).

why did you have to order from Amazon UK and not from Amazon US? First one is more expensive and slower imo. I've pre-ordered my copy of Rogue Trader on amazon.com and they will ship it to me (to Russia) on Monday, Oct 12th already. And delivery by UPS takes three days maximum, so I will surely have the rulebook by the end of next week.

I ordered mine back on August 3d and they show a delivery estimate of Oct 14. Not bad in my opinion.

I do enough business with Amazon that I've got one of their Prime memberships which includes free 2 day shipping and I VERY seldom have any problems at all with them. Together with the price, that makes it worth it to me. happy.gif

It seems to me that you may not realize that Fantasy Flight Games can't just make 2 million copies of this in the first run. Most likely Amazon got what they got, and that was it. FFG had to supply most of the game stores in the U.S. and Europe off this first run.

Well, then, considering that I pre-ordered fairly early, I expected I should have at least been in the first batch of books they did get. Since I wasn't, I find myself feeling ill-treated by Amazon. Especially since I'm hearing about a lot of people getting, apparently, a second shipment around the 15th, while mine was backordered till the 23rd. So that's TWO batches of books that I'm being passed over for. Is it any wonder that I'm feeling a bit put out since I pre-ordered early? Anyway, it's not stopping me from buying stuff from Amazon ... I just don't have the confidence in them to pre-order anything from them again. If I want something enough to pre-order it, it's because I want it shortly after it comes out. There's no point in pre-ordering from Amazon, from what I can tell, since I can pick it up in my FLGS 2 weeks before Amazon can ship it to me.

Mine has shipped from Amazon. ETA day after tomorrow thanks to Amazon Prime.

Just got the rulebook a few minutes ago. One day ahead of schedule.

Amazon worked perfect for a second time for me, folks.
