Since the core set have 4 sets of cards and boards, I don't see a problem to do 4 players game. Sure the tokens wouldn't be enough, but we can use coins to fix the problem. Any one try any house rules to start a 4 players game or more since more expansion are releasing soon.
More than 4 players
I came up with this 2 vs 2 multiplayer variant while twiddling my thumbs waiting for my Core sets to arrive:
1st and 2nd player are imposed the First Player Penalty (teammates sit across from each other, of course). Third player must skip his/her first Battlefield phase. Fourth player acts normally.
Game ends when there are collectively 3 burning zones for one team. This team loses the game.
A team member with 2 burning zones is not eliminated from game. Because there is no elimination at 2 burning zones and game only ends when 3 zones are burning collectively, a player can have up to 3 burning zones in his/her capital (thus allowing the opposing team to win). Being "decked out" causes elimination. Each burning zone in a player's capital causes him/her to lose 1 power in that zone (including a power icon from a unit of choice in his/her Battlefield).
thats really cool, i'm getting my core set tmr, hopefully we will have a four player game. And I thank you again for your excellent 4-players rules. By the way, would you be doing like a draft so everybody would have a chance building their own deck or just separate the cards into four different race?
It really depends on what is on people's minds....do they want a fast game or no? Do they want private deckbuilding (with multiple Core sets and later battle packs) or a public draft game? I can't yet answer that question because my copies haven't yet arrived and my group still haven't been properly acquainted with this game. The first thing on the agenda however is showing them this .
yup, totally agreed, the tuturial video really explains a lot whats going on.
