Not so rare. At my last three tournaments I've managed to pull one off.
Saw a super fel and whisper get one spotted by dash and Corran. The doombshuttle was the only ship left and the guy conceded turn two. Yes, those were range three shots

We had a player do the same at one of ours - match came down to two Z-95s left on the board, with one hull each. Enemy was coming up behind him, and he knew he wasn't going to survive much longer, nor could he flip to face him as he was already stressed - so he popped his feedback array.
*Bzzzt* - both Zs when up in a flash.
4 Hull Oicunn beating an unharmed Chewie.
Badly damaged Warden Squadron K-Wing slamming out of a fight whilst a fully-tooled up Guri flies into a mine laid several rounds earlier.
I presume Warden Squadron pilot lowered her shades over her head as the asteroid field behind her lit up in massive explosions.
I played a game where I had Palob backed up by warthog Y-Wings. On the third round in, I managed to block my opponent's Guri and deny her actions, but she got a focus due to her ability and I couldn't shoot with any of the Y-Wings. Palob however had her in arc at range 1, so he target locked, stole the focus token, and then used opportunist to attack with the primary and take Guri out of the game.
In my first time playing super Dash, I managed to blank all three green dice at range three while having a focus, and got hit by the 1-dice primary from the enemy HWK.
Back when the game was younger, I played in a Kessel Run tournament and ended up on the top table playing as the Rebels. That meant I had to take Lando and two A-Wings against Kath and two Interceptors. After our small ships were blown up, the Imperial player shot at a heavily damaged Lando and destroyed him. Due to simultaneous fire though, I fired back and did the improbable and destroyed Kath with a perfect roll and a whiff on his part. The Imperial player ended up winning due to having initiative. He ended up giving me the Falcon and taking the Firespray himself, and we've become good friends since then.
More recently, I was able to shoot Whisper down at range 3 with a HWK's primary weapon. Sounds more impressive than it was unfortunately. Whisper had been beached on an asteroid and had no shots or tokens. But fact remains, HWK primary at range 3 on Whisper
.
Not too much to tell, other than Imperial Boba with 1 hull left, taking out a Fat Han on the run, surviving four turns of firing with gunner, solely using his greens and focus, plinking Han till he blew. Never saw such even rolls before or after.
I once flew ImpBoba with navigator off the board.
Two games in a row.
