Something to counter some demon robots

So a few days ago a friend of mine came to me with an idea for a double IG-88 build and we've tried running it. We cannot seem to kill these robots and we can't come up with any real solid ideas as to how to do so.

What he came up with is IG-88 B and C, both loaded out with the same stuff:

IG2000 title card

Outmaneuver

Autothrusters

Fire Control System

Ion Cannon

Mangler Cannon

You guys got any ideas to counter this kinda thing?

I have only played a single time against IGs, but it's obvious their are to be respected. I had good results using Echo, Soontir Fel and a Doomshuttle. The Shuttle got annihilated, but Soontir and Echo could outmaneuver them.

Brobots counter is simple: Block and Outnumber them.

Easier said than done, but these things cannot move slowly. You can use that to your advantage, setting up your chosen ground in which to fight.

Yeah typically any ship with a higher PS and some arc dodging/post maneuver movement options should fare better than average against this build, the key (as with many lists) is to focus 1 down asap, don't split fire.

The first attempt we used against this build was a modified tie swarm, it only got some marginal success. We could park and rob them of some actions, but the fire control systems on these things makes them really good at stripping tokens off the ties. We couldn't do enough damage to the robots out of the gate with the ties...two dice against autothrusters, evade tokens, and three dice isn't good. Lost more than half the swarm by the time we got 1 damage done to the robots.

Might need to go with interceptors next time instead, that sounds better at least.

2-die ships have difficulty vs 3 agility, 'tis true.

Arc Dodgers do very well vs the Brobots as well; Brobots can't shoot at you if you've boosted + barrel-rolled away from the guns.

I'll tell you what list gave me hard times when I first started running brobots: Echo and Whisper, both with VI. It was practically impossible to keep them in arc, especially Echo. Super Dash was also quite a headache, though not quite as bad thanks to autothrusters. I also ran 4 Y's with twin laser turrets against BroBots tonight and they were very, very effective.

my brobots list that ive had a lot of success with is B&D with AT, VI, ID, AC,Ion cannon, autoblaster....unorthodox i know but hear me out

I circle around the board until i have a chance to pounce. Ion with rerolls and AC at range 2-3. when said target is ioned i close and and AC my autoblaster for 4 uncancelled hits. it ruins Soontir's, Horn's, et. al. day. the trouble ive encountered with brobots is the rebel swarm. they just kind of plug you up and then youre hung out to dry

Had some great success against Brobots with Vader and Juno both with Prockets and ATC, backed up by Palps in a shuttle, like a lot of people have been saying Higher PS arc Dodgers, plus a face full of Proton Rockets should do the trick.
