What would be the Imperials equivalent to BBBBX build?

Four Accuracy Corrector Advanced and Dark Curse.

I ran some brief numbers a while ago, and it looked like a pretty favorable matchup for the Imperials

I played with 3 Tempests and Vader and it did VERY well in an Epic setting.

Vader+ATC+Predator+EU

3x Tempest+AC

In the subject if AC Tempests, watched a buddy beat 4B wings (without the Z) with 4 of them with cluster missiles. 2B wings down in the first volley, and then one TIE advanced and a damaged second one (all ships got to fire because they were all PS2). Got down to 1v1 if I remember correctly and the tempest had most of its health remaining at the end.

OK, What would be the Imperial best build against the BBBBZ?

I use to run 4 Scimitars and a Bounty Hunter with Recon Spec., Rebel Captive, or Weapons Eng. against my friends BBBB with advs and BBYY ion cannon/turret lists. My list went something like 12-0 against his.

I tried running 1 less Scimitar and using Seismics & Gunner/HLC or Ordnance & HLC, but it didn't do nearly as well.

If we are evaluating a build that is somewhat equal to the BBBBZ - not designed to be better, but to be very similar - I would guess 2 lists:

From a Firepower standpoint - 4 Lambdas + Tie Fighter = 96 points base.

Maneuverability of the Lambdas is worse, but less points for the build, and more hull on the Lambdas than the.B-wing

The B-wing is also designed to take punishment with 5 shields - which this has.

From a Maneuverability standpoint - 4 Punishers + Tie Fighter = 96 point base.

Maneuverability is similar, but less firepower and 3 shields + 6 hull versus the Bwing 5/3.

Ability to add a bomb or two or upgrade 2 Punishers to Black Eight is available with the points.

I'm guessing 4 TIE bombers and TIE Advanced? :wacko:

That works mathmatically, but in the other direction.

Swarm + Howlrunner is the math way to get damage through. Usually with some Draw their Fire thrown in, but the new turret makes that pointless. You can't play dumb anymore if you want to beat the new turret spam, and arc dodging is less effective because of the fragility of the dodgers and the ships Imperials have capable of equipping Autothrusters.

Extra Munitions may be the Silver Bullet.

There are quite a few shuttle spams with some great numbers.

3 shuttles with heavy laser cannons and engine upgrade runs 96 points.

3 shuttles with FCS, Gunner, and Engine Upgrade come to 96 points.

3 shuttles with Advanced Sensors, Mangler Cannon and Engine Upgrade also come to 96 points.

Make one of those shuttles Captain Yorr for 3 points and you can have the three of them stay in one corner of the map the entire game.

i like that last one... but how would you position it to work like that.
