I'm wishing for source books for Bothan Space and Corporate Sector
Those are still two of my hopes too. Corporate Sector is obviously an Edge-themed book, but Bothan Space could go either Edge or Age IMO (and this is a good thing)..

Would love to see a book on Mandalorians. Give me some planets in the Mandalorian sector they still control, expand on the history of the conflicts in the book. Give me more armor styles with some varying stats or traits, more mods (wrist flamers? sure the underslug flamer attach works I guess but come on!
) Cool new guns, haven't really seen any expansion on blaster carbines. I want more combat oriented ships. This could all fit in the bounty hunter splat book but it could also be a standalone
I think a Mandalorian specialty book would be wonderful for EotE. It fits in with the game's setting (on the fringe) and everyone knows Mandalorians are cool. I'd like to see some stats for a Mandalorian Human, maybe some specializations, a nice selection of Mandalorian armor and equipment which should be slightly superior to what's out there now but not ridiculously so, and some writing bridging the timelines of the Mandalorian clans, to Queen Satine Kryze peaceful Mandalorians, to the rise of Death Squad, and on to the return to the clans with the Mandalorian Protectors under Fenn Shysa which brings us to the current era of EotE as long as Disney says any of that material isn't going to be contradicted in future filmes & shows.
I'm curious to see how FFG sustains their lines in the long-term. EotE seems specifically relevant to this question given that it's seen more book releases. In a year or a year in a half, we'll probably have all the career books out on shelves. That leaves adventures and setting books. For the latter, we already have Hutt Space and Corellia covered. Eventually that will hit a state of diminishing returns, as the settings themselves become increasingly more esoteric. I'm not as well versed as others are in the setting, so I'm not sure when it will reasonable reach the point where it feels like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel. People have mentioned some interesting ideas for standalone books within the line (like one devoted entirely to the Empire), but I think long-term sustainability is more predicated on lines of books with specific formats (in the same way that careers/settings/adventures fill a distinct format).
Era books have been suggested by numerous people, and those seem like a smart option, but beyond that, I'm at a bit of a loss. I've been digging into the World of Darkness books published by WW recently, and part of their expansion involves books that create rules and material for specific types of play (i.e. new systems for playing ancient vampires with a strictly political bent or rules sets and details for games focusing on law enforcement/military/hospital workers/etc.), but it seems like the most intriguing of these opportunities would already be covered by the career books. There's always the possibility for a second edition, but that seems a bit presumptive, given how well balanced the rules already are and how relatively new the game is. I suppose they could just let new publications rest, as the career books and new settings can pretty comprehensively cover the majority of the setting, but that seems like missing out on an opportunity for profit (and the risk of losing their license).
Does anyone have any thoughts?
I think Era books make a lot of sense, as do Settings books.
Once they get EotE done, that will give them more time to work on AoR and FaD. As AoR completes and FaD is in full swing, I imagine they might decide to come back and do a 2nd edition of some of the EotE books.
I doubt that FFG will decide to go the route previous publishers did, where they came out with books that focused exclusively on Droids or Ships or Equipment or stuff like that. IMO, I think that’s where diminishing returns really starts coming into play.
IMO, YMMV, etc….
I think they will just focus on the other 2 lines in the trilogy. Then when AoR is almost done and FaD is halfway done they will announce a new RPG in the "L5R" universe using the Narrative dice mechanic. All lines must come to an end but we would have to be 5 or 6 years from the end of FaD.

I agree that books focusing fully on the "crunch" of ships/equipment/etc. would be pretty much scraping the bottom for the barrel.
As someone who probably knows the setting better than me, how much material is there for compelling setting books covering the domain of EotE?
I think there might be potential in a single "fatsplat" for the core book species. Devote each chapter to the culture and peculiarities of the starting species, and maybe mix in some optional rules to have your species choice more prominently effect your character's capabilities. Maybe add "variant" sub-species similar to the Correlians present in that setting book.
It could be that they'll release all the career books for each line and introduce some more sector books (Corporate Sector, Black Sun, maybe Zann Consortium, maybe Unknown Regions/Wild Space, maybe a counter to Strongholds of Resistance that covers Imperial planets). Once each line is 'finished', they could drop the qualifiers and release books that can be used with all three games, with a notes section giving advice on how to adapt the material for each of the three core rulebooks, although adventure books will probably still have the qualifiers.
If they do cover eras, they sit at a peculiar crossroads of covering Legends material or Canon material. With Canon, they can cover the PT, The Clone Wars, Rebels and on into the ST stuff, and the anthology movies, while Legends benefits from mountains content to utilize, relative quality of the sources notwithstanding. They could take a third route and cover both, seeing as everything but technical details, if that, in the RPG could be regarded as non-canon anyway.
The only other thing I can think of besides so-called crunch books is either entirely new careers, although what they could be I have no idea, or a second wave of career books adding more specializations, and again, I don't have a clue what those could be.

That is certainly plausible. I don’t think they’d kill the production of SWRPG material entirely, but they might well move the bulk of their team over to other products.
But if they want to keep the Star Wars license, I think there’s a minimum amount of material they would have to keep generating, otherwise they’ll lose it to someone else.
If I remember correctly, FFG did renew their contract with Disney for another 4 years. Now I know the line also includes X-Wing, Armada, and The Card Game ... but that leaves hope for the RPG to at least get in all of the career source books, sector books, and some full length adventures.
I would also like to see some era specific books, and maybe something that fleshes out the dark side / the empire a bit.
Personally I see them slowing down production on EotE. Overall with 3 lines I expect them to manage the supplements in a way that keeps all three alive and well for about 5 to 6 years. That's about a good life span. I think we'll see a shift in development more towards AoR and F&D so that they can extend the EotE line a bit longer with out having to scrape the bottom of the barrel. So maybe more of a focus on adventures for this line so that they can do splats in the others and then trickle in a setting book and a splat book to round this out in a few years.
Covered my EOE wishes in an earlier post
For AOR I would like a CIS Holdouts book, an Imperial Fortress Worlds book, an Imperial Vassal States book, and a Neutral Nations book.
FAD is the line of the least interest to me but I would like a Tapani Sector book somewhere in the mix.
Edited by RogueCoronaTo me the detective spec would be awesome. I really want a spec in the game that is a combat and computers hybrid.
