Future Sourcebook Wishes

By Alisair Longreach, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

This thread is for our suggestions and wishes for the content of future Edge of the Empire sourcebooks.

The Bounty Hunter book:

Title: No Disintegrations

Careers: Detective

Species: Cathar, Defel, Shistavaanen

Vehicles: YV-666 freighter, Khiraxz fighter

Information about the Bounty Hunter guilds.

The Technician book:

Species: Devaronian (because they were one of the first starfaring races), Jawa (Utinni!), Zeltron (because of Deliah Blue from the Star Wars Legacy comic).

Careers: Scientist (reprint from AoR), armor/weaponsmith

Expanded rules for tinkering.

Regional Sourcebook: Arkanis sector

Species: Gamorrean, Jawa (if not in the Technician book).

What do you want?

Edited by Alisair Longreach

Rigger needs to be a Technician spec for realz, yo.

A book of modular encounters.

Once All the career splat books are out I'd like to see books compiling gear, ships, and races.

I'm getting tired of playing the "which book was that in" game.

Just to point out, Scientist shares almost all of its talents with both Scholar and Outlaw Tech, already found in Edge, so it would be more of the same, blended together. I can see Rigger, droid tech, maybe biotech or cyberneticist. Maybe something like scavenger or scrapper, focused on salvaging busted junk and fashioning something workable, althouth that may be niche.

Bounty Hunter is tricky for me. Sharpshooter or something similar, to cover sniping, brawler/martial artist for those bounty hunters who like to throw down, trapper for those bounty hunters who like their snares and Rube Goldberg machines, or maybe even some kind of space expert, good at piloting and capturing space ships.

Species: for Technician, you have Jawa, Squib, Ugnaught, Sluissi, Skakoan, Anomid, maybe even Arkanian (although I'll bet on them being in F&D). Bounty Hunter: Devaronian (more often then not, you see these guys in the role of some rogue or criminal), Rattataki, Mandalorian, Ubese, Barabel, Kyuzo. Shistavanen and Defel are good, though.

In the very list I wish they maintained a pdf file with an index on their ships and races released so far. I don't really need every gun every printed but the ships and more important the various races are an important part of the game. It should be a lot easier to figure out which races have been released and where.

We have ships at http://swrpg.viluppo.net/transportation/starships/

We have species at http://swrpg.viluppo.net/character/species/

These resources are not official, but they’re pretty decent and we’re working on making them better.

My point isn't that a list doesn't exist. There is an ongoing thread that keeps tabs of the species too. My point is that is that the company itself should be doing. It should be something that's in their books or in a nice pdf under Player Resources. It's great that the fans are stepping up and putting something together, but that doesn't mean that FFG shouldn't be doing it too. New players to the game shouldn't have to hope that someone on the forum is maintaining a list. It should be a simple resource that any player, whether old or new, could easily find from the product page.

A book of modular encounters.

Something like this - I think I'd prefer some shorter 1-2 session short adventures that could be linked or used in isolation. I never know how long my players will want a campaign to last for so something flexible appeals to me.

This is probably more GM wish fulfillment than a useful thing, but I'd love to see the Tapani Sector books from WEG reproduced. Those did a really good job of taking a region, giving the GM just enough details and just enough vagueness and room to create, and then letting GMs create their own stories.

Also I want official lightfoil stats.

As much as this might irritate others, I'd like to see some Era books. Consolidations of ships, equipment and locations relevant to certain times in Galactic history. That would certainly make things much easier for GMs to deal with the occassional "relic" or "antique" that spacers find during deep space salvage operations. It would also give everyone an idea of what ships might not yet be available for parties at certain places on the timeline.

EOE wishes

For the remaining career books I would love to see the Novasword class fighters in the Bounty Hunter book and much more extensive ship modding, and maybe even ship and weapon design rules for the tech book

I would love CSA and Black Sun books as well plus a campaign similar to the Far Orbit Project and a pirate/privateer sourcebook

Edit and more Sil 5 and 6 ships including FFG created ones. There can never be too many Sil 5 and 6 ships IMO.

Edit 2: A Zann Consortium book and a Mandalorian space book would be fun as well.

What do you want?

Completely agree with Detective Spec for Bounty Hunter Career, having discussed this with a BH player in my group about the lack of Knowledge Skills with this career (Outer Rim or Underworld in particular) and the amount of investigation required for tracking/locating their 'target' (some Colonist:Marshal style Talents would be good).

Also agree that Devorian player species has been a long time coming.

EDIT: Devaronian, even...

I would love CSA and Black Sun books

Yeah, good idea, I hadn't considered NPC faction books.

Unfortunately, as WEG and WotC learned, you can't do that and maintain a consistent revenue stream. A PDF index, updated with each new release, would be nice though...hint hint, FFG.

Yeah, a Black Sun one would be cool, though they'd probably tie it to a sector. Similar to how Lords of Nal Hutta is about Hutt Space but also has a ton of info about Hutts and their clans and crime business and whatnot.

Tech: Animatronics/Cybernetics/Droid specialist

Maker/Crafter/Inventor Specialist

Chemist, think Breaking Bad, this is Edge after all!

BH: A Repo! chasing down those that default on their loans and repossessing the appropriate value of items (or body parts) from them

I like the Detective too

Probably a Pilot type, for chasing pirates.

I love the idea of a Coruscant Underworld book , as well as a Corporate Sector book. An ancient ruins book for FaD.

I love the idea of a Coruscant Underworld book

I would definitely buy a sourcebook on nothing but Coruscant, both the upper levels (for intrigue campaigns based on political or business scheming) and the lower levels (for more Shadowrun-style stuff).

why oggdudes character gen is so useful. it tells you :)

Would love to see a book on Mandalorians. Give me some planets in the Mandalorian sector they still control, expand on the history of the conflicts in the book. Give me more armor styles with some varying stats or traits, more mods (wrist flamers? sure the underslug flamer attach works I guess but come on! :)) Cool new guns, haven't really seen any expansion on blaster carbines. I want more combat oriented ships. This could all fit in the bounty hunter splat book but it could also be a standalone

At this point I'd take ANY EoE book.

This game seems to have fallen off the radar somewhat.

Pirates is an EoE adventure.

I made my guesses, but I'd love to see a non-Force sensitive martial artist/brawl spec. I think Warden is supposed to be brawl based, but I still want a mundane one. I suspect Bounty Hunter is the last hope for it.

And I hope for the Kyuzo. Embo was awesome.

I want stats for that hat! I want to play as Star Wars Captain America

I'm wishing for source books for Bothan Space and Corporate Sector
