Depends on how well the Resistance sells

Probably not. FFG has been pretty clear that their focus starts at the Galactic Civil War period. That apparently stretches a bit to include the Star Wars: Rebels show, which is set post-Clone-Wars but prior to A New Hope, but the Old Republic period is probably far outside the intended setting for X-wing Miniatures.

Even less potential than The Prequels, man. The ships flat out would not be compatible.

Also the Sith Fury-Class is like 60m brah come on.

It's a shame, because they are some fantastic ship designs. But they are gigantic ships.

I would love to see a Legends wave with the Ebon Hawk, Sith Interceptor, and maybe a prequel ship.

They did add HK droids to Imperial Assault so someone else at FFG is a fan too.

They're entirely kitbashes. I need to do an in depth gallery of what's what, sometime. SWTOR's biggest problem is that it lacks visual originality and understanding of what it's pulling from.

Don't get me started on how Republic forces use White Plasteel armor with Friggin' T Visors.

I do enjoy SWTOR as a game, but guh. Visually it needs help. Severely.

Oh. Then I suppose, kick my junk in and call me Samantha, perhaps there is more hope for TOR era stuff than Prequel stuff.

We all know that the prequel ship would end up being the N-1...

Let's stat the N-1!

Att 2

Agi 2

Hull 3

Shield 2

Focus, TL, BR (or Tallon Roll)

Torp, astromech

17-18 points at PS2?

Dial like an X-wing, maybe with a different K-turn

I guess it's a weaker X-wing, almost a Z-95 with extr bull, BR, astromech And missiles swapped for torps.

People will buy that, right?

There were actually some HK droids made around the time of the GCW if I remember correctly from that old Visual Guide to Droids book... Either they were made then, or they were still around then.

That being said, I'd love the Ebon Hawk and an Aurek fighter. I'd never use them since I plan to be an Imperial player, but I'd love to have the minis.

As long as the game is doing well, they will continue to make new waves from existing content. That's a given.

As long as they're content to pull from what's close to and in their seting they will use it. With six new movies coming out and an entire new expanded universe in the making, they will have content for quite awhile. So that's a bonus.

After deviation from the two faction rule, and now having two sub-factions that I suspect may very well one day count as their own stand alone ones, their is plenty of precedent for yet more factions and sub-factions. So there's that.

So with finite, even though plentiful, content to use in this setting in one hand, and a still growing game in the other that will likely far out strip even that, I ask you: What won't they make? Because given the opportunity, they can make everything. So prequel, old republic, all the way back, all the way forward. All possible just a matter of when.

P.S. haters gonna hate. Yeah, yeah, us old guard are broken records stuck in our trenches.

As someone in the middle of playing through KOTOR2 for the first time as I write this, part of me would love to see something like the Ebon Hawk in the game. But I also feel the technical advances between the Old Republic era and the Galactic Civil War would require most ships to have a statline of 1/1/1/1. Maybe some of the more nimble ships could have a statline of 1/2/1/1 instead.

I don't think they'll change them to be stand alone. As has been mentioned elsewhere, it would REALLY piss off a lot of people if they suddenly said "the squad you've been playing for years is no longer legal".

What might happen instead is, now that the concept of "sub-factions" has been officially (hypothetically) introduced, that we may see additional sub factions created and eventually have the whole system morph into a sort of alignment system. Good guys, bad guys and neutral. Each with a variety of sub factions that have limited cross compatibility.

Maybe.

That seems to work well in Imperial Assault. There's a card for both the Rebel and Imperial faction to use a limited number of Scum cards in your build there. It does make for some odd squad builds though...

Lol... SWTOR biggest problem is its run by people so inept at what they do, I would be amazed if they're able to dress themselves on a normal basis... Which is then compounded by the fact that they have one of the most hilariously ill informed community teams I've ever seen in any game... Both of those combine to create a truly, hilariously awful product... Please do not lie to other people who may not know anything about the game by saying it's "biggest problem is that it lacks visual originality", because to do so is absurdly inaccurate and disingenuous...

Clone Wars Era ships please! Especially the original Y-wing <3

I doubt there was that much advancement, even over thousands of years. The tech would have matured long before the KOTOR era, with only styles and aesthetics changing over the centuries. Small nimble craft would fall in and out of favor while heavy bombers would be around when capital ships got too big for their britches. The reason why new ships are made all the time is because all starships have a set lifespan. Also ships get lost or blown up all the time, and each model was only produced for a certain amount.

There's no reason to think Aurek fighters couldn't do as good a job as other light interceptors like a-wings or Jedi starfighters.

I love Star Wars, well everything but the Vong, so I would be easily convinced to buy into the Old Republic setting.

Kotor and Tor have such a lasy design.

Tales of the jedi was a much better interpretation of that galaxy far far away an even longer time ago.

Less so then you'd think. The Star Wars universe is a suprisingly technologically static universe. E.g. Dreadnaught Cruisers being designed 50+ years before the Clone Wars and still being used by the New Republic during the Yuuzhan Vong War like almost 200 years later.

I think it will go the other way around. I think that since they potentially aren't dropping more than these two new ship's that have been rumored, one to each sub faction, they don't consider it enough to start them up on their own. To launch Scum as a stand alone faction they gave them four well developed ships to start. I see this as a more, 'hey, there's not enough yet, we don't want to force you to buy like two new core sets and at least two blisters (in theory) just to get going, so for now just mix in the appropriate stuff you already got and have fun until we come out with enough.' So who knows. Time will tell.

Buy otherwise, like I said, precedent for more factions and sub factions.

Don't be such a dillhole about it. Also don't you dare call me any sort of liar.

Old Republic would be an odd way for FFG to go. That said, it's a properly fun little game and the most fun I've had playing an MMO.

I hope they don't. While I do want to see Clone Wars era ships in the game, I hope they never go back as far as the Old Rebublic era, and they never go forward into the Legacy era(or even the New Jedi Order era, which technically the Ep. 7 stuff already does, but it's a different timeline obviously).

I never understood the people who defend Galaxies tooth and nail over TOR. While having a great character creation and crafting system, the game was an utter disaster. Broken, boring quests. Little to no story ("Emperor, I have done what you asked. Thank you for this...broken knife?"). Don't even get me start how my rodian could solo Fort Tusken but only after getting drunk and taking drugs. TOR is a fun game, it's just hard to compete in the world of WoW.
