X-Wing Co-Op Campaign is Here!

By R2-EQ, in X-Wing

I started a new campaign, using the Mark 13 X-Wing Solo Rules app for android. Dang, this game is fun!!

We just upgraded our HOTAC campaign to 2.0. Seemed to work fine in last night's mission. Might need to increase the difficulty though. We need to do more testing. Lots and lots of testing! Good thing testing is so fun. ☺️

Hey Vic,

How do you upgrade? I was trying to find some material on this on the facebook page but couldn't find anything. (maybe I am just looking in the wrong place)

Yes I looked there too. It was/is confusing. We simply upgraded our ships to 2.0. Sold our old upgrades at half price, and bought new 2.0 upgrades. Kept our pilot skills (I think initiative 1-9 works better than 1-6) since we upgraded mid campaign we used the basic upgrade slots for each ship and then added our mods and skills as per pilot skill level. We were just facing one shuttle and a swarm of tie fighters. So we played by 2.0 rules and the enemy played by 1.0 rules. Worked out just fine. I think we will slowly update the enemy to 2.0 mission by mission. We will just have to feel our way through the process. We had a lot of fun just diving in, so don't worry to much about it. 2.0 is fun!

In the files section of the FB group/page look for a file called HotAC playtest #2. This seems to be the most popular and thoroughly tested conversion. It has x-wing 2.0 AI charts for most of the ships and player ship/pilot progression cards. You still need the original HotAC for the missions and basic guidelines etc.

In their version, players eventually have to decide whether to follow a force user path or non-force path. Other folks have posted alternatives to the AIs and/or player cards as well - you'll just have to peruse the files section to see what else you can find. I like the playtest#2 AI charts a lot, but I'm somewhat ambivalent about the two path solution for the player ships/pilots. I'm working on some player cards that incorporate x-wing 2.0 features while still trying to emulate the original player cards as closely as possible.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Bullox! I will take another look at it.

We were thinking of doing the Imperial one soon, but Clone Wars might distract us.
