The new wave that just released has already breathed life into long dead ships like the advanced or HWK.

Why does everyone keep forgetting that Episode 8 won't be out for 2 years and we will likely only see a small number of additions to this game directly from Episode 7?

FFG will certainly continue to rehab ships that need an improvement via Aces packs so that they have plenty of product to sell.

Clearly Marin hasn't been paying attention to what is coming out with the new stuff. If he had, he would be rather more excited at the prospect of a PS9 T-65 that can do 3 actions a turn without stress, is almost impossible to block, and even if it does get blocked still gets 2 actions and no stress.

willl be amazing if lower health ships come back, even more useless against fat pwts (same free points, only more of them)

Pele Droid Wedge will be exciting enough just to have around to fly (just so much fun having so many options ), but it's not necessarily competitive material unless the meta swings hard against large high-hp ships that can easily outdice him (PWTs most easily, but also HLCs)

There's several Galactic Civil War movies planned still. It's not all Resistance and First Order now. If the Han Solo and/or Boba Fett movies go ahead, there's two more. There's loads of material yet to be done.

Nevermind the 'Rebels' TV series, which has already given us 3/4 of the ships so far spoiled for the next year, and is (by all indications) going to run for at least several more years.

And, yeah, "Rogue One" also set solidly in the middle of the Rebellion era (in fact, immediately before Episode IV, as it happens).

Tie Fighters will be getting 3 new pilots at least in the Assault Carrier expansion. Maybe they'll toss in some upgrades or titles that work with the Wave 1 ships.

Imperial pilots should get Pilot Suit upgrades since their ships generally lack life-support systems.
