Edited by ForceSensitiveIt's too bad the Gungans basically ruined Episode I with their over-the-top silliness. I almost could have lived with it if they had had a more minor role, like the Ewoks in RotJ. Also, the idea that Anakin somehow built C-3PO as a small child is stupid. However, podracing was awesome. In fact, Episode I Podracer is my all-time favorite N64 game. Someone needs to come out with a tabletop or board game version, cough...FFG...
I am happy now!

To be fair, the kid's been working in a droid shop all his life. He probably knows a few things about 'em. I never really thought the whole child-building-a-droid thing was too far-fetched. It's not impossible.
And I friggin loved the podracing game. Had it on the PC as a kid, would be ecstatic to play it again. Need a flightstick again...
Oh it's far-fetched. Think about it: Why did Anakin build a protocol droid? He says in the movie that he built C-3PO to help his mom around the house. But how would a droid that, as C-3PO itself says, is really only useful for translation be able to help around the house? His arms don't even bend. Anakin's mom didn't need translation services, she needed someone to wash the dishes — an activity C-3PO does not appear capable of doing.
Basically you are not allowed to think at all if you watch the prequels.
Just youtube redlettermedia if you need to be entertained.
Just for clarity, you think the Ewok battle was also bad and ruined that movie too right? And like building the t-16 skyhopper or at least working on it was just as dumb for Luke? But thumbs up for pod racer64! First bump. It's too bad the Gungans basically ruined Episode I with their over-the-top silliness. Gungans were FAR worse then Ewoks, IMO. And Anakin, as a very young slave, in a crowded city with probably little access to room efficient enough to hide, and secretly build, a huge, high end, pod-racer, from parts mostly stolen from his super stingy bosses junk yard, is a little less believable than Luke being able to wrench on his own T-16 in his fully equipped garage, as a free man, with the currency to purchase parts.
I will say that Gungans in a battle are better than Ewoks. I hate them, but they're much more of a military than teddy bears with sticks. But I'd rather see Ewoks over Gungans, because they're a much less annoying species.

Well, if Anakin build C-3PO from scratch that would be insanely far fetched.. Maybe he cobbled together the parts he found and it happened to mainly be parts from some protocol droid? I could sort of buy that. If it wasn't in to bad shape to begin with. Let's say the kid did light repairs and gave the droid a paint job, huh?
