Bossk + ?

Hello! i have recently bought YV-666, and i really like Bossk with

-heavy laser cannon

-mercenary copilot

-recon specialist

-outlaw tech

-calculation

and it's a LOT of points, 50.

I have 4x M3A interceptors, and i could buy another ship. What you suggest?

Remember Bossk and Calculation don't work with HLC, so there's 7 more points to work with. In addition, his ability only goes off once, so switching out Mercenary makes sense if you're running Calculation. RecSpec and Calculation work together well, but you might get more mileage out of a K4 or Tactician (or both).

Play around with those before delving into the other ships. M3As tend to be a little expensive for their fragility, but a pair with HLCs and a Tansarii Point Vet with some support EPTs could really screw with your enemy's targeting priorities.

how does that not work? HLC says IMMEDIATELY as in before dice changes via calculation no?

more on topic, I mean IG-B would probably be a pretty okay 50 point support murder fortress.

HLC's can crit. They just can't crit on unmodified dice with no other upgrades. If you use an Target Lock with HLC you get to keep any crits you roll, Calculation lets you change one of your eye-balls to a crit, Mercenary Copilot changes one of your hits to a crit when at range three.

If you don't have Most Wanted already I'd look at picking up that and a second Y-Wing. That HLC Bossk would probably pair well with a pair of Y-Wings with Unhinged Astromechs and either Ion Cannon Turrets and the BTL-A4 title, or the Autoblaster Turrets. If you get the Autoblaster Turrets you'd have some points left to give each A-Wing a Proximity Mine.

Slow roll that VY-666 and slam the Y-Wings into the faces of whatever you are facing.

Personally, I'd probably keep Bossk cheaper but it could be a fun list to fly.

For enducing rage, you could try either 2 Spice Runners with TLT's and Recon Spec OR 2 Thugs with TLT's and Unhinged Astromechs.

Another option is you could go with The meta N'DRU + Cluster Missles, Glitterstim and Lone Wolf. it's an alpha striker that costs 25, little expensive but 8 attack dice with re-rolls should do something. That leaves 25 points left to use on whatever.
(Only if you have the Most Wanted Pack However).

Apparently I have in fact goofed. All good to know, though I would still say HLC is a bit of a point sink on an already loaded Bossk given the arc+dial limitations.

I think Bossk might actually be better in the crew spot. Check out this build. 180 degrees of HLC. If that doesn't hit then fire again with target lock and focus.

i'd throw K4 on there to allow you to have a decent action economy almost always getting a TL from your movement

I do like the K4 on the YV-666, getting the free target lock, and taking the focus action really boosts the offense. I think it is a little redundant with the Bossk crew. It might even be the better way to go. Time will tell. I think the K4 might be better against your average/low agility targets. But I think the Bossk + Gunner would do better against high agility targets, and targets with lots of tokens. So in that respect, it might be a meta call which one is better.

Not all that bad. I'm not a fan of the mangler on Bossk with Gunner. If your first attack doesn't go through you get stuck on the primary weapon and if they are not at range 3, then you have little chance to crit and trigger Bossk's ability...it just has a few more crit 'blind spots', if you will.

What about:

Experimental interface doesn't do much if you are going to have that K4 TL and the marksmanship up. Using boost would also not allow you to marksmanship, but maneuvering fins would add a little flexibility.

I've been looking at K4 in conjunction with Latts Razzi and Weapons Engineer but I'm not convinced there's enough greens on the YV dial to be able to rely on K4.

I like Bossk with HotShot Blaster. Anything to cover the weaknesses of the ship is great. Maximize the strengths (getting crits t hrough) and minimize the weaknesses (maneuvering fins + Hot Shot Blaster". I just wish Bossk's ability was a little easier to trigger after floating away in the N. Pup.

This is the (modified list) I played last night in a 3 way with buds. The list worked great.

I kinda like this build:

Bossk for the nasty attacks. Use the Y wings and have them float behind bossk. When Bossk gets too far ahead have him do a zero. When someone gets behind him have him 3 hard turn and boost.
