Maneuver Dial Storage

By D00MSTALKER, in X-Wing

Does anyone have a inexpensive practical way of storing all their maneuver dials for the various ships?

I have upgraded my storage solution for my ever growing fleet of spaceships but my dials are just loose in the top of a plano box.

Any and all suggestions would be most welcome.

Plano boxes, which one depends on how many dials you have/plan to get or what else your gonna store with it

I was very happy to discover that the dials fit upright perfectly in the main trays of my Plano 732.

Not quite as good a fit in the side trays, but still workable.

Brilliant! I built one that did this split with a lot of token storage. Yours is better. :-)

Those poster tubes with the plastic caps on the end are perfect.

You can cut them to whatever length you want.

Sure, you cant see them, but you did ask for ghetto solutions...

I've got them in 3-ring binder pages for coin collectors, 20 to a page. They're a bit of a snug fit, but it works pretty well.

2" round cutout next to said ship in battle foam bag.. Oh you said Plano never mind....

I have been using tubes from Nestle Milkybar Buttons and Little Rolo (although I'm not sure how available they are outside the UK). They fit the dials perfectly and hold 23 all stacked up, they also come with chocolate :)

Use the forum search tool for the word 'storage' and you'll find all kinds of good info. Welcome!

I just stick them in my Plano trays.

Lots of good suggestions already. I have been using the dice bags. There aren't enough dice to warrant a bag. The dials fill the bags better. I have one per faction. Sure, you have to paw through them, but this would be the case for most enmass storage options.

Thx. I used to have it all in a BattleFoam insert but with Wave 6 I had run out of space. I had already made the small divider pieces (each have the ship type printed as a semi transparent background image and then the named and generic pilot names on each divider) so I just updated that file and did the same for dial types. I will most likely put the tray in my book cabinet and then simply pick those I need and thereby free up space in my BattleFoam 432 PACK for the many new ships pouring out these days

I wonder if coin binder pages would work for target locks. I like using locks that match the initials of my named pilots, so keeping them indexed would be nice.

Thank you for all of the suggestions.

I think I will order a few of the coin binder pages, seems like a great solution as it protects the dials, can be easily seen and sorted by ship.
