What's the shorthand for Tallon Roll?

By WWHSD, in X-Wing

We've got K-Turn and S-Loop. If you are talking about someone doing the move in the past tense it would be K-Turned and S-Looped. After writing a couple messages using this same convention for shortening Tallon Roll it dawned on me...

... this "leak" business might all just be an elaborate prank and FFG couldn't resist planting a clue that it was.

Rick roll/Rick rolled

Troll. Or trolled. I like it.

I'm just going to call it the metroid.

yep

K-Turn (pronounced Kay Turn)

S-Loop (pronounced Sloop)

T-Roll (pronounced troll)

My son pointed out that the T Roll looks like a Tokyo Drift!!!

Maybe it should just be "Drift!?" Or "T-Drift!?"

K-turn, S-loop, T-roll ;)

Pssh, I pointed it out yesterday...

T-Roll, of course

I'm glad we have more new maneuvers. Gives new ways for ships like the TIE Avenger to do something interesting.

My local sushi place has a Talon Roll. Spicy crab, spicy tuna, siracha, shrimp tempura and eel topped with jalapeƱos and spicy mayo.

It's supposed to feel like a talon of spiciness on your tongue.

Totally unrelated to the topic, whatever.

Sushi is related because now I want it

(You jerk)

You're so much better than his kid, it's not even funny, lol.

I use the full terms when I reference these manoeuvres. Mainly to help combat the growing laziness that pervades the speakers of the english language.

Nothing, like we also have nothing for the barrel roll ;)

Odd that your signature uses a shorthand acronym then, eh?

Talonbane needs the Tallon Roll

Talonbane needs the Tallon Roll

unfortunately, he comes up just short of qualifying for t-rolling

Talon Roll is also a card in the LCG, so I don't think FFG is messing with us on this one.

Not at all. The line in my signature is adapted from Obi-wan's line, and the acronym was used to chosen as it is a close rhyme with the original word, 'view'. It is a play on words in an attempt, albeit in a minor way, of being witty. It was also talen from another conversation, and out of context. If i was referencing the expanded universe, now legends, in a conversation, I would type the whole thing, or exercise proper etiquette by spelling it out initially and then putting in brackets an acronym.

The difference being, most just use the acronym without explaining what it actually stands for. Examples: pwt, at, ptl. Without taking the time to explain what the acronym stands for, it is not an effective form of communication. Hence, being lazy.

I don't have an issue with acronyms per se, only that they are often not explained. They are prevalent with people all over, from the ubiquitous LOL(laugh out loud), to the abhorrent YOLO (you only live once).

So is EU engine upgrade or expanded universe? ;)

On the Defender? Both.
