Heirs to the Legacy [Force and Destiny] OOC

Would a Simple (-) Medicine check heal wounds? I thought that was possible once a day?

It's once per encounter, and the difficulty ranges from Easy to Hard, depending on the number of wounds the target is suffering from. Wounds equaling half or less than half of the wound threshold makes for an Easy check, more than half makes for an Average check, and wounds in excess of the threshold make for a Hard check.

Given the relative limits placed on first aid, it is advisable to first use a stimpack or two first, so as to lower your difficulty.

Yeah, forgot that I have a book near me I can check (even at work). Also seems to note healing oneself increases difficulties as well. This is going to be a fun roll. :D 2 Green, 5 Purple.... Good thing failure doesn't create wounds.

He can use it next time! As it is, (Threat) Marsten suffers 2 more points of strain, for attempting first aid on himself without any training or equipment, or first administering stims to dull his pain. :-/

To be honest, Marsten took more of a blunt beating, never any cuts and whatnot. Don't see a whole lot of medkit help for bruising. :D

Did Stimpack before the roll, just didn't count it as having medical equipment. It's all good. It's how he rolls.

Cybernetic and Organic parts man, its a volatile mix sometimes.

Also, did our Imperial friends leave behind the Dark Knight chassis I wrecked, I was thinking about maybe trying to steal its brain, or if there is somebody in the group with an Intelligence or Tech Gathering Duty. Or if they left any Stormtroopers behind, giving them a cursory glance for useful things, like maybe a stim or grenade or two.

With the damage you caused that thing, especially the fourth critical injury, it'd be really difficult to getting anything useful off it. You may perform a Formidable (5eD) Mechanics check to safely recover its brain for extraction, or a Daunting/Upgraded Once (1eC+3eD) Computers check to simply download everything to your datapad (as long as someone has a datapad you can use).

Or...you could take your chances with an Impossible Lightsaber check (difficulty upgraded twice), 3eD+2eC, which also requires the expenditure of a Destiny Point to perform. Success means a clean cut on the droid's head, disabling it entirely but keeping it intact enough that you can take it back to HQ and get some useable intel off of it.

You can, of course, simply narrate the removal of the head without rolling, but that would be fraught with all kinds of potential danger

Perhaps Gael or Tahiri could try the mechanics check, also using a Destiny Point to upgrade their checks. They could also make an assisted check if they were working together. Even with that, we would need some good luck to be able to succeed.

The biggest concern is Gael isn't with us and time isn't exactly on our side...

Does anyone have a datapad? I'm probably our best bet to do something with this thing depending on what resources we have.

Would a toolkit help with any of the checks? It seems like it would help removing the brain... Or my medpac...

You can assist with such a thing, but you've already performed your action, so it'll have to be someone else making the check. And yes, Gael would have to get there, which would eat up tons of time that you can't afford.

Looks like its time for some aggressive surgery, which is just surgery with a lightsaber.

Whoever is gonna do it, just tell me and I will try to meditate. I'll actually do the roll now, to avoid a situation like the recent auto-healing one (where I read it too late to help).

Mechanics? I've got that in spades. What are we doing?

Also, holy sith, did we get xp?

Well if Hal wants to make a new buddy with the head of the Dark Knight that Kell took down, we might be able to extract some intel from it.

For Mechanics, the situation is detailed in the above post:

For XP, please reference the post made a little over a week ago:

You may spend the XP now, before making any more skill checks.

And may the Force be with you :)

I'll bank the xp for the moment.

I would say you forgot the boost die but it really won't affect 6 failures...

Yeah, that would have turned the whole thing around...

That's fine, I'll allow the Boost to be used for your next roll, but just remember to use it next time :) Else it will be lost for all eternity. Never to be found again.

Your pretty sure that whatever H4L hands you in an oil covered, dangerously sparking mess, is not useful to anyone who isn't in desperate need of a paperweight.

Mechanics Roll: 5eD+3eP 6 failures, 2 advantage
d-f-f.pngd-f.pngd-f-f.pngd-th.pngd-f.pngp-a-a.pngp--.pngp-a.png

Obviously, you are unable to successfully extract the head from the chassis, but nothing terrible happens. In fact, you might learn something, or find something physical. What would you prefer?

Awwwwwwwwww shiiiiiieeeett. The plot thickens!

So where do we go from here? Waiting on somebody to check on the Anselmi?

I implied that Marsten and whomever would go and check. If it needs to be 'roleplayed out', then lets do so. Otherwise, it could be passed over?

Yes, this is something that will absolutely need to be roleplayed out. Assuming that everyone is going that direction, and that Gael is going to meet you there with the ship, you will be able to find their refugee camp with an Easy Survival check (to track their route through the emergency escape tunnel) or an Average Streetwise check (to ascertain their location by asking around). In either case, apply two Setbacks to the check because you'll need to be doing it quickly. Having Gael meet you there is a simple matter of comming him with the location; no check is required for that part.

This check can be made via Skilled Assistance.

Can I assist the skill through Battle Meditation? If not, I can assist the good ol' way (blue die), but I'm not really the "guy who finds places" (two green).

If any of you is familiar with Ranma 1/2, think of me as Ryoga (actually, in RL some of my friends call me that) :P
