Heirs to the Legacy [Force and Destiny] OOC

By awayputurwpn, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I just read the newest post on the IC. Man, I thought that the Campaign would end with the deaths of all of the heroes with how the battle was going.

I was wondering what the next course of action would be for the group of PC's. I believe in coordinating PC actions.

Well, I believe, if the battle is truly over, the next course of action is getting on our ship and getting the frak out of there. Hal is down, Kell is pretty much spent, everybody is pretty banged up. If they're retreating, I say we let them, call it a win and go back to base mission accomplished.

I concur.

Make it so! (IC, that is)

I'll be really sporadic for the next little while...dealing with lots of fun things like flooding basements, head colds, and more inexplicable computer problems. Just so ya know!

If you have any questions, as always, feel free to ask.

We can introduce maverikid's character after the current scene is resolved. You might want to see if your Anselmi friends are alright, and made it through the escape route unscathed. Just sayin.

The smoking pile of scrap in the corner concurs.

Isn't our droid named H4L and not Hal?

Anyway. We probably will need to finish the few troopers on the ground as the ones on the building flee. I'll go ahead and make an attack on those guys. Because of the fire, I'm changing my purple to a red or adding a purple to the normal attack?

Hal is easier for everyone, including me. It's meant to look like HAL when you write it in 1nt3rn37 speak anyway.

Away, are we still in structured time or are you okay with us mopping up the troopers on the ground while those on the roof retreat?

I was just going to ask that :P If we're still in combat, I guess I'll do my turn to try to "fix" H4L, I know he always carries some patches on himself...

I'm still waiting for instructions before I let Dev'rios do anything. I don't want to do anything that might hurt our chances of success. At this point I am assuming that we are going to take out the troopers on the ground like BigSpoon said. Here's hoping Away won't be too busy.

Yeah, Marsten wouldn't just let them run off without a few parting shots. Not sure if in the chaos of the ship's fire, the ground troops run away, or if they are still 'active' in fighting. Fighting retreat? Means I'm getting shot at and I'm firing back.

If they are gone, Marten will gladly haul Hal back to the ship while others check about.

Either way, Marsten is not excited about their exit. They were scouting, found what they wanted, and left. Time to find out what the what is.

It's entirely up to you guys if you want to fight them as they retreat. You may exit turn-based timing if you wish: 1. roll your Simple (-) Cool or Discipline check to recover strain, and 2. post something narrative in the IC thread about trying not to get hit by the scary lasers :)

If you want to chase them, you may, but they do have a fully armed troop transport at their disposal, which they are currently only using to keep you pinned down, facilitating their retreat.

We need a squad code name.

We need a squad code name.

Yeah! What is it?

Strain recovery: 3eA 0 successes, 4 advantage

a-a.pnga-a.pnga-a-a.png.

(I can't remember if Advantage recovers strain on these checks)

RAW, no. But I like Advantage to do something, so we'll make it recover strain on a 2-1 basis (2 Advantage for every 1 point of strain). This applies to this and all future post-encounter strain-recovery checks until further notice.

Strain Recovery - Discipline: 2eA+2eP+1eD 3 successes, 1 threat, 1 Triumph

a--.pnga-s.pngp-tr.pngp-s-a.pngd-th-th.png
Recovers 3 Strain.

What would you like to do with that Triumph?

Well, it's a discipline check... what if I keep discipline enough to get out of cover for a second and drag H4L into safety? If there were (by any chance) any Anselmi still around, this would show that we don't leave anyone behind.

Yes. Sounds good. This will give you a Boost die on all your future Leadership, Charm, Negotiation checks with them (basically any above-the-board, generally positive interactions).

So is this where Dev'rios becomes a smoking pile of corpse cause he gets blown away by the shuttle guns?

That might be. We'll have to see :)

Attacking Stormtroopers: 2eA+1eP+1eC 3 successes, 1 threat

a-s-s.pnga-s.pngp-s.pngc-f-th.png

Heeding Kell's advice, Dev'rios dove into some nearby cover to get away from that infernal transport's guns. If The Order was fleeing, Dev'rios would make sure he would take out some troops in the process. When the guns started to focus their fire somewhere else, Dev'rios took out his blaster and aimed in the direction of the Stormtroopers still on the ground. It was difficult to see through all the dust and rubble flying everywhere, but he managed to make out two figures in the distance.

"This is for you, Hal." Dev'rios thought. Realizing the transport's cannons began to focus on his position once again, he quickly let off two shots and ducked back into cover just in time, hoping his shots found their targets.

Dev'rios took two strain to perform two maneuvers, one to take cover and one to draw his pistol. If that one threat counts as one more strain, then he should be at 5/12W 13/15S.

Can you add a Challenge die please, as they are at medium range still and engaged with Tahiri.

You said they backed up from me last turn and I never had a chance to engage yet.

Either way, it has been edited... and Dev'rios missed. Curse you, Orokos Dice Roller!

Wait, how can you miss if you had 3 successes? The most any die can add is 2 failures, which would leave 1 net success.

Edit: Now I see it, you rerolled everything. I guess just rolling the die that was missing would have been enough (cause there was no "change one for another", just a plain add).

Edited by Jereru

...Oh. Well, that's unfortunate, I just created a dilemma for myself. So what do I do? Do I add that one Challenge die and call it a day, or do I stick with the rerolled action? It's at times like these where I wish the dice had just given me a success.

I misspoke. My note sheet said that Tahiri was engaged, but he wasn't. Please keep your original dice roll and ONLY roll a single Difficulty ide.

Oh. Sorry if I created a situation.

Oh. Sorry if I created a situation.

No not at all. I don't have a standard "this is what we do in the case of messed up rolls." I try to take it on a case by case basis, because 1) everyone screws up from time to time and 2) the magnitude of the screw-up varies in degree and relative impact. Point in case, I told maverikid to roll a Challenge die instead of a Difficulty die :)

Here is the original roll:

Attacking Stormtroopers: 2eA+1eP+1eC 3 successes, 1 threat
a-s-s.pnga-s.pngp-s.pngc-f-th.png
Here is the added Difficulty die for being at medium range (I rolled it):

Fix for Dev'rios: 1eD 2 failures
d-f-f.png

You're left with 1 success and 1 threat. Dev'rios hits and kills a single trooper, and suffers a strain.
