Ok...

So I took a long hard look at my character, and came to the conclusion that it is one jedi in a series of jedi in a jedi related game. I don't have a spark. There's nothing there to make me really want to play the character.

So I'm making a new one.

Would our hired gun character fancy teaming up with me and we can make a dynamic duo if brilliance the like of which the world has never seen?

I hope mods are possible. I have twin pistols with the Bantha's Eye, Blaster Actuating Module, and Paired on them....... :D

Attachments are kosher! Hold off on actually installing the mods. I can give you the opportunity in the opening portion of the game; I'd prefer the rolls to install to actually be made IC.

What if one doesn't do the modifications themselves? I'd picture Marsten taking his Shooting Irons to a proper gunsmith for perfection.

I can help with install rolls... sorta!

Anyway, I need to clear this with you, because I was gonna go with a droid heavy with, like a LOT of heavy weaponry. Explosives. Heavy repeating blasters, the like. ApocZero kinda put it well, think of Jayne from FIrefly mixed with the Tin Man from the wizard of Oz. I would imagine I need to cover that with you before I wandering in with a repeating rocket launcher assuming I can shoot up whatever I want.

Let's see what you've got! The Order (the Empire of today) has much the same restrictions on droids, making independent droids *technically* illegal. Independent droids wielding deadly weapons are reported to the authorities and essentially treated as very dangerous, faulty machinery. So nothing much new there ;)

Assassin droids are also illegal, of course. But hey...when has that ever stopped anyone?

:D

The gunsmith might have to wait if you don't want to do the work yourself. You could have an allied PC do it for you, like Crazy Aido offered to do!

Note that in the RPG, Mods are less "gunsmith perfection" than they are "personal touches to your personal touches" (attachments). Modding your attachments isn't really about optimization, but tweaking something to the max, squeezing every last bit of juice out of that orange. And sometimes in the process things go sideways.

Ok, looks like I'll need a squishy humanoid to help me not get arrested.

"This blaster? Hey man, I was made this way what's your excuse? Squishbag, show this organ pile my papers or whatever it is he needs to see to stop me being turned into paper clips."

Also, I should probably leave the flechette launcher behind. Probably.

The Gank are a relatively new race to me. I just did a vast internet search, and seems they are still a bit 'open' to what they look like since all tend to be in heavy battle armor or have cybernetics all over the place. But from what I understood, Ganks didn't talk, except to other Ganks, and through cybernetic communication. If you're saying that my Gank has a mouth and can speak normally, then I officially petition for the following image to be my Gank Gunslinger.......

-clip-

Yeah, the only info I think we have is that they do normally speak at least three languages (Huttese, Gank, and some Basic)—fluency is something that is largely up to the player of course—and that they are a furry, bipedal species. Most of the images I've seen have their faces entirely encased in armor, so if you did speak, it could come through external speakers/vocabulators. Or yeah, you could have your mouth uncovered. They would likely have sharper teeth than in the image there, and a slightly less human physiology, since they are hairy carnivores!

But yeah, that could be a close-enough approximation! Sure you don't want a little more coverage for your vitals...?

Basic Lightsaber comes with an Illum crystal correct?

Yes, Ilum crystals come in the basic lightsaber.

I could have built you a translator or a simple vocalisor. Or I could speak your brand of crazy ass backwards speak, so I serve as your (heavily armed) translator.

Mmm another question... Having Contribution 2 has any direct mechanic impact on us that we need to take into account at character creation? Or just the "being famous among the Resistance" thing?

Means you get cooler stuff faster ;)

Ok, someone help a gun totting brother out here.

I'm kinda stuck for what equipment to go with, yes, I know, equipment isn't what defines a character, but given my character is made out of spare parts anyway, I figured I'd like to discuss it.

First, I wanted to go with a sidewinder repeating heavy blaster. What's that I hear you cry? It's a laser minigun. Plain and simple. No, it is not the kind of thing I will carry around with me all the time, but when I do, **** is going down.

For regular weaponry I was going with an Se-14 Light repeating blaster on a wrist mount. So I can shoot while I shoot. (Obviously it's there so I can have a reserve weapon just in case.)

And then grenades and explosives. Lots of grenades and explosives. Taking demolitionist as a second specialisation.

Will probably take laminate armour and as much carrying gear as I can lay my soulless metal hands on. Anything I'm forgetting?

Repair Patches! Remember we can't share our Stimpacks with you. Also, beg and QQ that any of us puts some dots in Mechanic :P

Extra Magazines?

Tools/Climbing Gear/Survival Gear, etc? (I guess a lantern would be useful, but using your eyes as a lantern would be super cool).

Dark vision goggles or however they're called.

Datapads/Comlinks/Scanners/Jammers/Anti-Jammers, etc

And of course, if you open your chest and produce a Martini, I'd be your fan forever :P

I have taken a good few dots in mechanics myself, It helps with setting the demolition charges. Armour has a commlink and sensor array. Probably get some scanner goggles as well. I have the talent for extra mags.

Make your own **** drinks!

I have taken a good few dots in mechanics myself,

Remember that "healing" yourself has an added +2 Difficulty.

A repair patch auto heals 3 wounds though, and I can use 5 of them per day. So I should be able to patch myself up fairly well. Plus I can always hand myself in to a repair shop.

I believe for droids and mechanics it's only +1 difficulty. They don't feel pain as you or I, so it would make sense that it would be a lesser difficulty. I'm AFB, so it's possible I am wrong.

You'r right! All in my group, including me, skipped that part :P

I understand where you're coming from and I only have one Attachment (Blaster Actuating Module) that can have mods (was looking for the Pierce mods). However, I've never been a fan of the mod explanation by the book. I can see an Attachment with certain mods already installed being 'factory ready'. For example: a Tactical Flashlight for a Pistol. Sure, one flashlight might come with just the Light, while another might have a Laster Sight option installed, while another might have a Strobe effect installed, while another has the Laser Sight and the Strobe in it. I guess I tend to look at mods as Features. The way Mods are explained, it seems more like a mod to the weapon itself than the attachments.

But if I am losing the Mods from the Blaster Actuating Module, then I'd likely just remove the Blaster Actuating Modules. The desire was for the Pierce punch. Without that, taking a Setback for an extra point of damage is worthless.

Well, I was considering the guy to have survived his starship being blown to bit with him inside. So, scarring, burns, etc. I figured he's a less hairy Gank. As for covering, he'd have clothing, just the look is what I was going for.

After some reflection, I have had a change of heart. It is Knight Level, after all, and the supposition is that you're a character who's already been doing stuff. So I would say that you can have one modification on a Non-Lightsaber attachment for just the 100 credits (no mechanics check required).

Wooooooooooooo! Now what can I mod the doomcannon with??? :D

MOAR DAKKA !!!

Some minor changes to my char and addition of some fluff.
