Shadows of the Future [Force and Destiny] OOC

By awayputurwpn, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Alright gentlebeings, trying to get this thing back off the ground after a prolonged absence. I'm open to "fast-forwarding" from where we left off, since picking things up mid-encounter can sometimes be a bear.

Please post if you're willing to continue with the game!

I'm very happy to continue, but do we want to skip? Will it all make sense?

My idea was that I would ask everyone to perform a single roll to determine the outcome of the encounter, and then move on from there (wounds are possible, but PC deaths are not). So yeah, narratively, it is my hope that it would make sense :) But I could go either way, depending on how eager you all are to figure out these threats for yourselves...!

I'm interested in knowing what exactly is the cause of our friends' sudden interest in us, but I don't want to run counter to your plans.

I'm very interested in continuing.

Also interested in continuing. My phone drowning accounts for my not replying earlier.

Yeah, was really sorry to hear about that man! That is rough.

Okay guys, we'll get this pig good and kicked. We'll start with a post that both resets the scene AND keys off the last IC post. Keep an eye out in the IC thread, soon as I get off work here in about 6 hours. (link is in my signature)

I'm interested but I don't have stable internet at home right now, just my cell phone.

That's okay Revanchist, I'd rather have shorter posts devoid of formatting than none at all :) as long as you don't mind posting from the phone.

Sorry guys, had surprise company tonight and it took up the late afternoon and into the evening. I'll try and get up early in the morning and post something!

I'm in as well.

I believe Korro Zal confirmed in PM. That sounds like everybody.

Heh... Good one. :D

We're on a mission from the Force...

I'm going to try and post in the IC as soon as I can. But right now I'm sifting through the entire thread to help get back into character.

Just treat it like a new season of a TV show, where one character just gets a total personality makeover. Like Phoebe in Friends. Except with a lightsaber.

I finally caught up.

I think Maya would probably use Perception to help out. However, I can't recall if the others ever explained to her just exactly they were looking for. Or maybe it's just me who forgot.

I think we can assume that all was explained in one of the evenings around the campfire.

I think I've used Survival as my 'go-to' check a few too many times previously, so I'm going to have Kovin make a Vigilance check ( P AA ) as he's mainly concerned with making sure that nothing sneaks up on the party; any forward routes he observes would be a nice side effect.

A pox on my poor memory, then.

I skimmed through the OoC but I cannot find any details on what the Jedi were looking for. My memory is garbage (hence why I had to reread the entire IC thread to get back in character). Can we get a nice and succinct rundown on what the main goody-goodies ( :) ) are looking for?

This is from memory...the mission was disclosed at places in the IC thread, but it's probably a bit scattered. Here is the jist:

The Jedi Council (at least, what remained of the Jedi Council) sent the original team of 4 to Tython. They had a vision through the Force that more Jedi were to be found—powerful allies against the Sith. They were given the location of the Jedi Temple on Tython and were told the that this was where to begin the search for these new allies.

What is the difficulty of her Perception check. And do you want it here or IC?

You can put it IC! unless you really want to put it here.

Is my Perception check on the same difficulty?

We're underground now, right? I was thinking maybe a pilot planetary to fly up and get a good view of the area, but if we're gonna stay below ground that might not be in the cards.

Interesting! I like the idea of Piloting. You can cover a lot of ground in the jetpack, but there is darkness and tight corners to contend with. The aforementioned darkness penalties apply, plus 1 Setback for all the tight corners. The difficulty starts at Easy for speed 1, and you can increase the difficulty/speed at a 1:1 ratio. The difficulty is further upgraded once, due to your silhouette.

Success will upgrade the ability of any Perception checks you make.

Is my Perception check on the same difficulty?

Yes, although others' checks might grant certain boons.
