Shadows of the Future [Force and Destiny] OOC

By awayputurwpn, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Okay, finally back at it. Had a lot of surprises coming back home that threw me for a loop.

I'm moving things forward a bit in the narrative, but you'll still get your chance to rest IC. Have no fear :)

Coordination : 2eA+3eD 2 successes, 2 threat
Xan keeps his feet, but...suffers two strain from the surprise?
Can I use telekinesis to pull Maya back? If so...
: 1eF 1 Light Side
...I succeed!
EDIT: Forgot to use Seifer's advantage--next person can take it.

Maybe I've misunderstood the Move power all this time. Do you need 1 to move Maya, or 2? 1 pip to activate the power, and 1 to activate the strength upgrade.

I don't have the rule book with me now, but it seems unlikely to require 2 pips, since that would make it near impossible to use Move effectively without two Force Dice. Furthermore, last time I used Move, I was able to take a heavy sack from a Flesh Raider and move it away from him, so clearly I can do it (at least according to awayputyrwpn).

It looks like my posts yesterday didn't make it to the boards...curious. And now to try and remember everything I typed up before... :-p

You do indeed need two Force points in order to Move a Silhouette 1 creature. Flesh Raider Sack explanation below:

The Flesh Raider's sack, from back in the jungle, was being treated as a Silhouette 0 object and, since we were in narrative time and it was part of a larger skill challenge, I treated you as "engaged" with the Flesh Raider, being "close enough to meaningfully interact" with him.

However, I appreciate what Xan is trying to do. I'll allow a "momentary arrest," giving a Boost die to the next skill check to try and rescue Maya from the sliding sand.

I'll reply in the IC.

I made the check for Firan. I won't normally be doing that, but since the action was only being held up by the one skill check, I went for it. Revanchist, you still in?

I'd say it's fine. He hasn't been posting in TOS either so I'd say he may not be online at the moment, which is a shame.

I'm assuming the skills we can roll on are going to be Athletics, Coordination and the like, so unless Kovin can roll a Survival check (to form a temporary rope from a convenient nearby plant for instance) I'll be best off providing assistance, though I do have AAA for Coordination.

If you wanna assist them, you'll have to jump in after them ;)

But I fully support the creative use of skills. Oh also I spent a DS Destiny Point earlier, which gives you another LS one. I'll make the adjustment...

Well we're in a sinking pool of sand, but it very much matches Kovin's character to dive in after her so hey ho here we go.

What is there that Kovin could use survival-wise. What resources are available other than a collapsing sand pit and some rocks?

Completely out-of-character here, this is the site of (the outside of) an ancient Jedi temple. So perhaps nothing...but then again, perhaps something? *Pushes forward a Light Side Destiny Point*

Perhaps an ancient vine growing from beneath its foundations, one long nurtured and cared for by the Force for the moment it might be needed?

Are you spending a Destiny Point?

It is my Destiny...

Anyone want to provide Assistance?

Maya will reach out for Kovin, not sure if that's worthy of assistance or not.

I'd call it unskilled assistance, but I'm not the GM.

Seifer could provide assistance to help haul Maya back.

Down with the flu. Should be able to post later today or tomorrow.

What would be the difficulty of the check?

Totally fine. Sorry sorry sorry again.

What would be the difficulty of the check?

Assistance can be had from each PC engaged with the other. Skilled or unskilled.

Consider the Destiny Point spent!

Am I understanding that you want to use Survival? If so, the Difficulty would be Hard, and I'll flip another Destiny Point to upgrade the Difficulty once. So that's 1eC+2eD, and don't forget your Boost dice.

Are Kovin and Maya still on a slope and hanging on, or can we move normally now?

The steep slope looked easy enough to navigate downwards, though it would be nearly impossible to climb back up that way.

You can drop down if you wish. Or continue to hold on and wear your arms out ;)

Please be gentle.

This may hurt

"You remember the ancient Gungan prophecy of the Mighty Binks. This appears to be a transcription of the legend."

JSYK, the current state of affairs is that it is, quite suddenly, completely dark except for the beams from Kovin's glowrod. This means that Kovin can see stuff as long as he's pointing his light at it. Firan, when using his electrobinoculars, can see in the dark (thanks to light amplification and thermal imaging) at the cost of having a hand free.

How is your character dealing with the darkness? Please narrate :)

Do the lightsabers count as glowsticks?

Lightsabers will cast a small amount of light around the wielder. Not enough to illuminate a large area, but enough at least to see things which which you are engaged (or about to become engaged). So they'll stop you from running into walls and such. Plus, they are a weapon in hand, so that's always nice.

What else have you got?
