Will the next Falcon be...

By Shado, in X-Wing

Releasing the same exact ship outside of an aces pack would scream GW practice to me

Disney has more than enough manufacturers (re: Lego) to rerelease the falcon; ffg needn't bother.

Welcome to the dangers of success. X-wing is now the 2nd largest table top miniatures game out there, whoa take a look at that royalties influx, THE MOUSE DEMANDS MOAR!!!!!!!!!

By this point I think we'd have to apply the ship of Theseus to the Falcon.

As a college philosophy professor, I'm proud to see this being used in the X-wing forum. :D

Class time kids. Theseus has set sail across the Aegean Sea. His cargo is wooden planks. During his travels, he is forced to use his cargo to repair his ship. By the time he reaches his destination, his entire ship has been replaced with the wood he was carrying in his cargo. Being not a spec of the original material is left of the ship he originally set sail on, is it still Theseus' ship?

This is Metaphysics at its best. :D

In Britain, this is better known as Trigger's Broom.

Theseus' Ship pops up all the time. Just about every great philosopher from Socrates to Einstein has weighed in on the metaphysical question. When I bring it up in class, I always get a response of modern examples from my students over the course of the semester. Fun stuff. Thanks for sharing this! I might use this clip in class.

Theseus : what if his cargo was wave 7 instead of wood planks...

Unless he found a way to repair his ship with Star Wars miniatures, Theseus' ship would be at the bottom of the sea...

Apologies, I should have included that wave 7 was compatible with his current ship design..

Think im close to something else there too...
