...Scum? It would be the faction Han, Chewy, and Lando originated from. And who knows exactly what they have been up to for the last 30 years, or what their roles will entirely consist of in the TFA?

I don't see there being an Ep. 7 Falcon. It's not like the new X-Wings and TIE Fighters where they are updated models of the same ship type, it's literally the SAME SHIP.
At most, I'm thinking a new Millennium Falcon title that gives it one of the fancy new upgrade slots in addition to the Evade action the old one gave.
Edited by DarthEnderXI would have bet the same before things started leaking everywhere.
FWIW, my *original* guess on the three missing SKUs was:
- 'Most Wanted'-style booster with X-Wing and two TIE Fighers (which "certain rumors" now say takes the revised form of Core Set 2.0)
- Standalone T-70 X-Wing and pilots/astromechs
- Standalone TIE Fighter and pilots/upgrades
However, it looks like the new masters at Disney are being CRAZY more restrictive than ever before, and no...well, anything...is being announced before the movie comes out. What we've seen in the trailers is it, flat out. FFG cannot create new named pilots or crew or...anything at all...beyond what has already been released.
Which means the idea of a standalone X-Wing and TIE Fighter pack...without a single 'named pilot' in them, or astromech, or anything else...seem kind of crazy.
Especially since there has been so much else that HAS been released by Disney - Kylo Ren, General Hux, and Captain Phasma for the First Order. Finn, Rey, BB-8, Poe Dameron, Han Solo v.7, Chewie v.7, Leia v.7, C-3P0 and R2-D2 v.7, etc.
It has adjusted my guess a bit. At the moment, I'm thinking the missing two SKUs are:
- Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle (with pilots and/or crew of Kylo Ren, General Hux, and Captain Phasma)
- Episode VII Millennium Falcon (with pilots and/or crew of Solo, Chewie, Finn and Rey)
Oh, I'd absolutely bet on there being a Force Awakens Falcon.
Differing radar dish aside? It's another way to make money for FFG.
I'm guessing we'll not only see expansion packs for the updated X-Wing (and perhaps even another paint scheme for Poe's fighter) and the new TIE but also the Falcon, the shuttle, and any other small craft seen in the upcoming film.
You can count on it.

I get your point. But how is it any different from what they have already done with the Scum Y-wing and Z-95? Those were identical ships to the ones that already existsed for the Rebs, but with new pilot cards. Granted, they also came with new pilot cards for other ships as well, but those were also for others ships that already existed (Firespray & HWK). And just like an Ep. 7 Falcon would have, some of those Firespray pilot cards were alternatives of already existing unique pilots (Fett & Kath). It wouldn't be anything FFG hasn't already done with Scum. At least an Ep.7 Scum Falcon would have some difference in the model, other then paint.
Every single time someone brings up the Shuttle/FO, I wonder if they've actually looked at it in pictures. The wings are HUGE, and unlike the Lambda's they're still stupendously long when folded, plus the retraction mechanism wouldn't really work with minis since I can't think of an easily-produced method that wouldn't end up scratching paint.

Keep in mind Disney still calls the shots. If Disney says there will be another falcon there will be another falcon. Get ready for the YT-3500!

It's not the same ship though. Those are different people flying the same MODEL of ship.
The Ep. 7 Millennium Falcon is literally the...same...ship...
A better example that's already in the game would be Empire Boba vs. Scum Boba. As both of those are the Slave I. But also, note, that FFG didn't release a new model for Scum Boba. Just a new pilot card.
Get ready for the YT-3500!
Except it's not. The one in Ep. 7 is not some new ship that's just been named the Millennium Falcon. It's the exactly same YT-1300 it was before. The owners switched out some parts, but it's the same ship.
Edited by DarthEnderXBy this point I think we'd have to apply the ship of Theseus to the Falcon.

Great, now I have to go Google something...

okay then,
the YT-1300 modified
If the rumor/leaks are true the Falcon's been missing and rotting on Jakku for 20 years, so if anything a TFA version should have worse stats and dial. I think some of the PWT haters would like that, lol.
Incoming old fat han builds! ![]()
I would expect a new Falcon model, based on the different radar dish. Would I buy it? Yep.
Han Solo could have an 'aged' pilot card that gives him different abilities.
Don't write anything off, at this point in time.
Even if you hate the idea, you would still buy it. Go on - argue that you wouldn't
:)
FFG barely have to try and we will pull out our money quicker than Fry can yell to shut up and take it!!!
I think an older, cagier Han would be interesting. Maybe a lower PS and a crazier ability? Vetran skills to make up for a slower reaction time.
By this point I think we'd have to apply the ship of Theseus to the Falcon.
As a college philosophy professor, I'm proud to see this being used in the X-wing forum. ![]()
Class time kids. Theseus has set sail across the Aegean Sea. His cargo is wooden planks. During his travels, he is forced to use his cargo to repair his ship. By the time he reaches his destination, his entire ship has been replaced with the wood he was carrying in his cargo. Being not a spec of the original material is left of the ship he originally set sail on, is it still Theseus' ship?
This is Metaphysics at its best. ![]()
A new Falcon will come out. How else are they going to squat out new pilots for it?

Aristotelian solution here, but then I'd have to to be one of the "eventually we'll become cyborgs and that in no way makes us any less machine than we already are" group.
Releasing the same exact ship outside of an aces pack would scream GW practice to me
Disney has more than enough manufacturers (re: Lego) to rerelease the falcon; ffg needn't bother.

That was my point of mentioning the Firespray. Becasue of Slave-1 being a specific ship in 2 factions. Also, let's not forget ol'Moldy. It can be flown by Scum and Rebs too. So there are multiple examples of the exact same ship already being used by 2 factions. Plus, if your new to the game, or just haven't purchased a HWK or Firespray yet, and want a Scum Moldy or Slave-1, your forced to buy 2 seperate kits, one of which (Most Wanted) may come with a lot of extra stuff a person may not have even wanted to pay for. At least with a Scum Falcon, you would have the option to buy either, Scum, or Reb. And if you bought both, I'm sure they would both have upgrades that could compliment the other.

I tend to prefer Platonist logic over Aristotelian. If we want to get all modern though (and remain in the geek realm), Ghost in the Shell did a fantastic job of applying Theseus' ship to humanity. Can one's humanity be measured by something corporeal or biological? Plato (and GITS) says no.

Thanks for this... I'd thought David Wong thought that one up. Had no idea.

Unless he found a way to repair his ship with Star Wars miniatures, Theseus' ship would be at the bottom of the sea...
