So I'm thinking of picking up the Deep Realms pod expansion. I did some research via the Talisman wiki and it doesn't seem to come with additional alternate endings. Can anyone confirm that this is the case? If so, has anyone made up some good homebrew endings featuring this expansion?
Deep Realms question
No alternate endings for this expansion.
It uses a "Pod" format very similar to The Nether Realms Expansion, making it cheap and quick to produce. (No fancy miniatures which I suspect make the production cost go up.)
The alternate ending "Cards." are pretty much the 4 additional board spaces, marked down on two cards. They go in the blank space between the City and Dungeon expansions.
So what you get is board space "cards", and two decks of cards.
For the price it's very much worth it.
Hope this helps.
I've read some comments elsewhere that the board pieces are not quite as thick as the rest of the board.
Is this the case?
They are not. They are more like he cardstock of the alternate ending cards. and more like the ones in The neither realm then the rest of the bunch. At first it's a bit discouraging , but you get used to it. You can either tape them to cardboard, or just leave them as be. We have a really good table for talisman so they fit just fine on there. Again, I believe the intention of the expansion was minimal production costs. In doing so they made quite good addition. It's good enough that I hope it enables another expansion of this type to be made so we can bridge highlands/woodland.
Sounds good. I do love the alternate endings though, since we use them to manage which expansions to use in a given game. Printing them out myself is easy. Figuring out what they should do / be like is hard.
Yes, I love the Deep Realms and use it every game. While I hope that the next "realm" is a bridge between Woodlands and Highlands, I'm game for something different too; a twist of some sort.
I am really hoping for a Highland Woodland connection. Loved Deep Realms!
Anyone else except for me who´s a bit disapointed with the new game "board" pieces of the Deep Realms exp., that really coud have been a bit thicker and still would fit in that little plastic box for 15 bucks? Or they could have made it bit more expansive, I would have gladly given even 20, it´s one of my most favourite games and I hate being disapointed by FF trying to "save" a bit here and there, when they really don´t need to.
Thx for reply...and sorry if it souds a bit harsh, but I had to write it...I just opened the expansion a feel a bit let down by FF...

This keeps the price down for such a small expansion. These are POD expansions and allows them to get it out much faster, albeit in a different "quality" than the normal components. If or one am very happy with the small expansion and I glued my cards to boards that are the same thickness as the boards so they look and feel great.
I'm not very good with crafting things, but I might consider trying that, JKA,
but in general, it works well enough for my games. I like this expansion.
