I've got a strange love for the Starlight Class light freighter. No good reason why other than I think it looks neat.
Favorite Starship?
1) Yup. It's a sexy ship.1) I like the YT-2400, myself. IMO, it has better default weapons than the YT-1300, decent enough cargo, and better handling.
2) If you can find/get one, the HWK-1000 is awesome, with much greater speed (the only Speed 5 Silhouette 4 vehicle in the game), better handling, and doesn’t lose much in the other areas.
3) The YT-1760 is nice in that it is 4/4/+1 but only costs 80k credits, and has five available hard points, whereas the other 4/4/+1 ships are the Baudo-class and Luxurious-class yachts, both of which cost 200k or more.
2) I agree. This is perhaps the best ship from my point of view, simply for potential if nothing else

3) Kind of a derail question, sorry, but would you let Baudo-class and Luxurious-class yachts come with luxury passenger compartments (Desperate Allies)? To make up for the cost?
Disagree that the HWK-1000 is the best sil4 ship. It is a decent ship. It is super fast, but it is also super fragile. It is very customizable, but there are other ships that have more cargo room, more weapons and trauma/strain if you are willing to give up just little bit of speed.
See, Kraft Gunship, YT-2400, Citadel, etc.
I've always been a fan of the YT-2000, looks-wise...
and then there's the YV-560, which is fantastic...
and while it's not official yet, the VCX-350 is one bad ass piece of spaceship.
Our friendly neighborhood Librarian did a great stat block for it.
Edited by Bishop69I'm not sure why but I've always been partial to the 2-seater version of the Y-Wing. And, then the ARC-170 came along.
Transport size I've never really had a favorite. YT-1300 was almost too cliche. YT-2400 was cool, but almost TOO hotrodish. I never liked the turtle. So, after rambling, perhaps the Wayfarer or the Ghost?
Small capital ships originally the CR-90. Then I moved on to the Jedi Cruiser version, perhaps only because it was new? Now, it's almost hard for me to admit, the Pelta frigate of Clone Wars is growing on me.
Large capital ships, the Venator.
Pelta's are fun. Awesome firepower for their size and era and good defenses at least in Saga edition. I'm curious about what the Rebels edition will be armed with in FFG if it ever appears since it carries fighters which was one capability the Saga Pelta was lacking.
The HWK-290 is very cool, and is my current party ship of choice (it just works too well for the Corellian Noble), but otherwise I'm a huge fan of the Incom A-36 and the YV-560. I love the long range scouting type ships for my Twi'lek fringer! Gotta explore those worlds!
Also, I'm a huge fan of the ARC-170 and would love to find one someday in game! It's one of the things I want most out of this game!
For freighters, I'm partial to the 2400 and the Ghtroc 720 aka "The Space Turtle". For corvettes, the Pelta is a favorite and I have a special place in my heart for the Defender-class Light Corvette (my group is running in a custom designed freighter version). For true Capitol ships, it's the Venator-Class Star Destroyer hands down.

3660 BBY? TOR?
Edited by bradknowlesYeah, that's the one, the story behind the freighter version, is that when Palps was scrapping all the Jedi stuff, Rendili, not wanting to waste all the R&D and credits that went into the tooling and production lines, redesigned it as a smaller craft, rebranded and resold it. Good ole fashioned capital corporatism keeping the dream alive.
IIRC as well 3660 is when the ship was -new-. I imagine it was probably in service with the Order for quite some time, probably only beginning to be phased out when the Consular Cruisers came around.
Edited by BigSpoonAs player i prefer the YT-2400 or the HWK-290.
