X wing in stores this week. When will we see armada?

By Corronjedi, in Star Wars: Armada

A local shop just posted that wave 7 will ship to stores tomorrow for sale in the next day or two. I'm new to fantasy flight so what do the rest of you with more experience with this company think about how soon we should see armada wave 2 now that x wing is in stores?

... If we go by FF's nebulous statings... Probably partway through Q4, alongside X-Wing Wave 8.

Seriously. They'r eboth listed as Q4.

End of September is out of the question unless it goes on the boat yesterday (it didn't). Even then, it would be slightly optimistic. Earliest I would expect it is the first half of October.

Also, you can track products using the Upcoming link at the top of the page. Things can be "At the Printer" for a long time, but once they go "On the Boat" they (usually) end up in US stores 6-8 weeks later.

X-Wing Wave 7 was put on the boat in July. Armada Wave 2 hasn't gotten on the boat yet.

A certain September Release has put a wrench in Armada's Wave 2 release but it will get here before Christmas I expect.

I hope we get it by the end of Christmas but going off of how the game launched, and Wave 1 went I hope we get it for christmas rather than this being a second coming of Imperial Aces, that slipped what from Q4 to Q2 the following year or so?

We haven't seen any actual evidence that X-wing Wave VII will be hitting stores this week, and you'd think the announcement article would have hit by now if it were going to.

You'll get wave 2 when they're good and ready to give it to you!*

*-probably this year

But i want in now! I NEED my ISD, i see this beautiful ship and realize my fleet is incomplete without it.

Sigh...oh well, back to reading the here they come arttical and waiting for more info.

My guess is November, but I wouldn't be disappointed if it was closer to late October.

One of my local store said he was told today buy his rep that it is shipping to them tomorrow and should be there by Thursday

Nothing against you, mind you, but word of distributor has proven to be unreliable in the past.

Look up at the top of the page. See that word up there, "Upcoming?" That link is your friend. The product was off the boat and shipping as of last week. I've never seen a product start shipping and then not end up in my local stores the very next week. Stores will have Wave 7 X-Wing sometime this week. Guess what happened with the Raider? When it finally said it was shipping, stores had it the week after.

My best friend owns the local store here in the southern U.S. and told me today that X-wing wave VII will ship out to him tomorrow, that's the earliest they could ship to him, and it will be in store Wednesday.

I put a stop on my Armada play until Wave 2. The delays are killing my interest, sadly. I will try to play again, if I remember to dig my stuff out. Not having a shop to play at isn't helping much.

Noticed that Amazon has changed the date for Wave 2 to October 31- trick or treat?

It's like Spaceballs...

"Fooled you!!!!"

I saw a raider in a store. It was nice.

I really don't understand why they keep making the same mistake with their estimates time and time and time again. You would think at some point they would just be more conservative with their estimates in the hopes of not annoying the hell out of their fan base.

Licensing approval is the main hold up. Or at least that's what I heard from one an FFG employee in the same Armada league that I play in.

A little bit of love for Armada from the devs would go a long way though. Every time I see the news has something for everything else other than Armada - I get more annoyed!! The forum has gone a bit stale, it needs a tasty bone to chew on, come on, spoil something, ship bases, whatever, just something. How about a post from the mods, something like, "look guys - we know you really, really want some news, but just hang until Sept 4th and you'll see..... " Armada just feels like it's been forgotten right now :(

It is virtually impossible to pinpoint when something manufactured in China will be in stores in the US. FFG doesn't have a ton of stateside warehouse space to sit on things before they release, and I'm sure the distributor's don't either, at least not for long periods of time.

"Well Bob, our guy in China thinks Armada wave two should be here and ready for distribution in July. Should I just go ahead and put that on the website?"

"No Tom. Not this time. Lets just go ahead and add three months to that. You know, because thats what happens every single time anyway. And since I possess the pattern recognition skills of a five year old, I'm just gonna make an executive decision and act on them."

"Brilliant Bob! That must be why you're the boss!"

"And don't you forget it."

Yeah, that's all well and good. But when you get burned on your estimate for the thirtieth time in a row, you would think someone in the office would suggest being somewhat more conservative in their predictions.

I would rather they be honest. If you take into consideration that their announced dates are estimates and subject to change, you stop caring so much when it gets pushed back. They are not the only company this happens to. Not all of their stuff gets pushed back, and it doesn't always get pushed back the same amount. There is no concrete pattern to speculatively base an over-estimation on without regularly having to adjust it again later. The process is long, and has many steps that can slow things down, especially with a game that must get licensor approval for every release.
