Biggs Walks the HWK's

New most annoying list ever?

Biggs Darklighter (25)
R4-D6 (1)
Rebel Operative (16)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Jan Ors (2)
Rebel Operative (16)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Recon Specialist (3)

Eh. Without playing against it, one of the glaring weaknesses I see is that you're going to have to fly in formation in order to be protected by Biggs, which means you can't cover your R1 doughnut hole. So it should be relatively easy to fly in and dispatch Biggs without losing anyone since the HWKs won't be able to focus fire. And from there it should be easy enough to dispatch the rest.

That said, I do like the idea of a single HWK w/ TLT and Jan covered by Biggs. It'd be even better as Roark/Kyle to boost Biggs (give him an extra attack before he dies or give him an extra focus token for offense/defense). I might have to try that out.

Multiple hwks will cover their wingmans donuts, that is after your opponent has taken out Biggs or breaks up that formation.

If you aren't good at forcing your opponent to split fire with Biggs you might as well just make him a 4th TLT HWK.

Drop one of those TLT Hawks and get a Stress Hog.

Biggs flies at the back of formations he's escorting to maximize his durability (An X-wing at range 3 is more durable than a B-wings at range 2, and the same is true at closer range). Hwks have a donut hole, which kind of makes that formation impractical.

I think you'd need spread the formation out a bit more than typical. If you were flying 1 base apart, rather than the typical 1/2 base apart that would help give the HWKS more space to ensure nothing is out of all 3 arcs.

Biggs has to be R1 of each HWK, not that each HWK has to be R1 of each other.

I'm really hoping someone pans this idea so that I don't have to buy a third HWK.

That'll be fun to play! I like the Jan Ors addition.

Biggs will have a lot of fun protecting those ships, since the TLT toting HWKs can move a bit more sporadically than forward arc ships. I foresee him jumping in to cover the ship that's about to unavoidably get hammered by Range 1 shots.

A third? I'm gonna need a 3rd and 4th to run what I want.

Don't go out and buy a 3rd HWK over this list. Borrow one or proxy.

Try and fit Garven in there to give Biggs both a focus and evade.

New meta is going to be sweet. Everyone spam TLT until fat Turretwing goes away.

But getting the 3rd also gives him more Ion Turrets, as well as allowing him to run the all-Scum HWK list.

I have to confess, that is a shockingly intersting idea to pair TLTs with Biggs. I wouldn´t do it myself because I like my actual squad (and flying with several TLTs are boring to me), but I really don´t want to play against such a list.

Hmm- Hwk Hwk Biggs Stress Y ...

R7 on Biggs?

I'd call that ... Hawk Hawk Goose!

Fly it in an upside down T with Biggs in the middle. Inside the doughnut hole of any one should still be hitable by the two others and possibly Biggs. Jan Ors can change Biggs Focus action into an Evade (if needed) every turn increasing his survivability. I'm not buying extra ships but it may be fun to try.

Range one formation flying is back in style? Is there a universal convention to ban the Conner Net?

I would be sorely tempted to drop the recon specs for tacticians myself (but I love control).

But something like:

2 x Rebel Operative w/TLT and Tactician

1 x Gold Squadron Pilot with TLT and R3-A2 (you could go for ion and title here, I have yet to try TLT/R3-A2 version)

Biggs

99 pts.

For tactician and R3-A2 you have to have your target inside your firing arc. There is no 360 degree advantage with this cards and therefore for me not a good combination with TLTs

The TLT/R3-A2 is an odd combination because it takes away the strength of the title adding 2 potential stress, but it also means you have a much better damage across the course of the battle. Usually you only need the stress in the initial joust anyway.

What about Kyle Katarn with TLT and Jan Ors, 2x Rebel Operative with TLT's, and Biggs?

Biggs gets focus+evade every turn. Is that too many points sunk into defending Biggs though?
