Rogues and Villains

By marcemtp, in Star Wars: Armada

i can't figure out the ship between Katarns ship and Rendars ship. Who is it?

I take it your talking about this image

That ship is called Havoc , a modified Scurrg H-6 prototype bomber . I'd never heard of it before I just researched it now. It looks like he's a space pirate from the prequels EU. I've dealt with a few space pirates back when I flew for the Empire . But I never ran across this guy.

That's presumably the ship of Pirate Captain Nym, the "good smuggler/pirate" character who if I'm not mistaken debuted in the Star Wars: Starfighter duality of games on the Playstation 2, and among my favorite pieces of old EU despite its proximity to the void of darkness that is Episode 1. I look forward to seeing what role it plays in Armada, as it put the B-wing to shame in the department of focused strikes on large targets.

Yeah Hammerghast. I never understood why they abandoned that series really. I would have loved a Episode III Starfighter followed by Episodes IV, V, and VI

Maybe they'll think about the other character ships in it for future X-wing and Armada releases despite their prequel-era roots. There quite a few pretty cool designs...Vana's ship I can't remember the name of comes to mind.

Hers was the Guardian something. Mantis I'm thinking

Nym and his starfighter "Havoc" are my favorite expanded universe character/ship. Check out "Star Wars Starfigher" and especially "Jedi Starfighter" where you can see how cool Nym is. Dash Rendar also has a cool story. Check it out on Wookieepedia.

Rendar is hands down my favorite EU character. Followed by Thrawn

Rendar and Thrawn are great but I think Kyle Katarn Nudges them out just a bit for me.

Anyone who ends up as Player Character just seems like a Mary Sue to me, at times.
