Unavailabe workers

By Khas, in StarCraft

I was wondering what are the ways that you can find workers in your unavailable workers pool area, other than if you have just purchased them, or if they are used for repair when playing terran.

I noticed that the diagram on the unavailable workers pool shows a worker building. Wouldn't it be more interesting if there was a rule saying that whenever you build a building or a module, you should put one worker in your unavailable pool? :D

The only problem with that is the limited number of overall workers that you have, and in mid-to-end game you need all the workers you can put your hands on...

Afraid to say that other than Terran repairs and worker construtcion there are no other means to bring workers to your unavaliable worker pool - which is quite probably a good thing. The pool is there simply to signify a zone for workers who are busy, but not busy at harvesting resources. Simply consider that every worker in a mineral or gas sector is, in fact, "unavaliable".

I guess there is one other possibilty except those you already mentioned.

I remember it beacuse it is used in a case when you are about to loose one your resource area and you have already put some your workers on it.

If you fully deplete a resource area, all your assigned workers go to your unavailable worker pool. So you can save them in case you would lose a battle of that area.

That's correct. I've employed that strategy many times when I know a resource-producing area is about to be overrun and I don't want to have to build new workers.

Wow, indeed this may be usefull. Thx for a tip, Artemis. happy.gif
