Need quick feedback for a 3 Vic list, Please...

By Commander Czym, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

My list quick and dirty is;

Vic 2 with Tarken, Defense liaison, H9, and warlord

Vic 1 with Defense Liaison

Vic 1 with Defense Liaison

Total 294

Objectives are Adv Gun, Flt Amb, Dangerous Terr.

I am hoping to go second

Thinking about adding Leading shots to Vic 2 but then it takes me to 298 and our group goes anywhere from 297 to 300 on any day.

The idea is that I take CF for every command and have tarken give the CF token. If I need to change the command and use the token I can, or get an extra die and a re roll if needed. Basically all my Vic's have a command of 1 for this build as I can choose any command I need for the turn.

Feedback please....

I think it could work - Tarkin and 3 Victorys would be pretty nasty. The main threat is naturally enemy fighters. Get some B-wings stuck in your front arc and they will keep pelting you with dice for the rest of the game. If you could spare some points for a lighter fighter screen that might help tie up the enemy, or cheaper point defence reroute for extra anti-squadron capability?

I like the addition of the H9. The biggest ship threat the Rebels have is an AF2 with Advanced Projectors, being able to convert a shot into accuracy can allow you to bypass that defense and chew into a hull section. If you run into a Rebel bomber list you could have trouble. I have run a similar build against such a fleet and gotten pounded by concentrated bomber attack while the AF2 carriers (there were 2 of them) maneuvered out of my forward arcs.

Well I tried to run it and failed big time.

The first game went well for me as the opponent had a AF and a Neb with fighters and he chose to go second. I selected Fleet Ambush from his cards. The setup went quick, I put a Vic 1 in the middle of the board. He placed the AF in the middle of the left side facing towards the left edge. I placed my Vic 2 across from him. He placed his Neb behind the AF heading straight. I placed my last Vic 1 almost on top of his AF. Long story short, I killed both of his ships by turn 4.

Next was a 2 AF build with bombers and luke. I chose to go second and he picked Fleet Ambush. He set up his first ship at the back of the right side ambush zone and angled it to the left. I put my Vic 1 on a line from him ( bad move on my part). He then put his second AF slightly to the left (my left) of the first ship. I put my second Vic 1 straight across from his second AF. I then put my Vic 2 by my first one angled towards his first AF. I saw right away that I was going to lose. On his first turn he turned his first ship towards me and came straight to my lone Vic 1. He then brought in his second one and his bombers. I tried to block his way so he couldn't just turn away from my now chasing ships. In a few turns he destroyed the Vic 1 and started to head towards the second Vic 1. I tried to shoot everything I could but it was no use, his bombers we all over me. He tried to slip past me and I caught him for the last hit before the other AF and the bombers took out my second Vic 1. His last AF broke wide and ran away from my Vic 2 and he ended up winning the match

The third game was another double AF build and this time it was packed with Y-wings. This time I elected to go first and selected Fleet Ambush again.(It seems like there is not a lot of others played in the yellow choices.)I tried to do the same as the first game and put a Vic 1 as close to his zone as possible. He put his AF right on top of it and angled (it was paragon). My Vic 2 then was placed in my zone, right behind the Vic 1. His second ship was put right next to his first and my last was right on top of his second. He then placed his bombers, right on top of my ships. It was bloody from turn one! By turn 4 he had lost paragon and I had lost both of my Vic 1's. My Vic 2 was moving fast and his bombers were coming in fast, well fast for a Y-wing. His other AF had turned and was running away. No way for me to pull it out.

So from this I see the meta has changed to Rebel's with a lot of bombers (black die style) at my store. So I am working on a new list with some fighters. I figure that if they have bombers, my fighters can tie them up for a turn or two. If they have fighters, it is not as harmful to my ships and I can try to brush them off, and if they have just ships, I haven't spent too many points on the fighters.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll let everyone know what changes I make.
