Sad this is the current state of affairs..

I hope the 4 stores in my area that want this. . . Hopefully a 4 get it. Then I can get 3 chances to get 1 of each wave 2 shios

This guy totally sent me his PayPal, and his street address in a PM. Lol.

Send him your 2c.

D'aww- Which Matt are you?? So many familiar faces around here, it's great!

GSDs are brutal little bastards that punish your mistakes hard

This can make playing against then frustrating at first. Really, though, they're not that amazing once you get used to them. Their Phenomenal punch is tempered by the shortest range in the game.

This. I was sort of sweeping over this thread until the end, but this brought me up short. Before the GSD started to gain purchase here, learning the game was a slow but fun affair. Since now almost every list features two GSD + Demolisher, your mistakes get punished so fast it makes it harder to learn from them. Some of the newbies in my area were frightened off entirely or decided to play heavily into Imperial themselves (I'm basically the token Rebel here).

Many moons ago...from the Flames of War days at Huzzah. I'm one of Scott's friends.

The real problem of the wave 1 is that imp fighters are too easily countered by Tycho and an A-wing or two, so they get pushed into ship heavy builds. I have personally performed the best at 2 vsd's and Demolisher with a barebones fighter escort or the 4 ship builds.

Rebel fighters are better, but they still get outclassed by a pod of whales.

To the OP's point, I would argue against it. Rebels can easily put together a list that will wreck an imp 4 ship build, it just has 4+ ships and no Nebulon B's.

Nazgul have you ever played against 3 whales or 2 whales and two corvettes?

That would mess up a four ship list easy.

Fighters will get a boost from Intel. Then you have Rhymerball's that still can attack ships and such.

Awesome Matt! You guys doin any Armayduh at Huzzah?

you don't need 4 ships to wreck GSDs and squadrons already do a marvelous job of it (Bs especially)

Fatties are simply the easiest ship to learn the game with, because they are long range (red dice), have the most coverage out of their dominant arc relative to any other ship (2 wide sides), are maneuverable enough to be able to abuse said coverage, and are quite chunky. With EA especially, they mince GSDs (just don't let GSDs mince them back)

Nebs, by contrast, are the exact opposite in every way except the long range dice (they're also slightly more maneuverable than fatties, but boy howdy that doesn't make the spindly-sides any easier to ignore)

I think they do. I don't really get out to Huzzah anymore though.

Op says Imperials are broken, and like blood in water everyone jumps his ****....OK Darth Lupine plays the same list at 400 points wins every match....Darth Lupine plays same list minus a VSD and sprinkle a little bit of squadrons...... Still wins every game. So tell me you don't think Gladiators with ACM's , Screed Demolisher ,engine tech is a bit over the top?

Ok Screed makes sure you get a crit off . the concussion missiles damage adjacent shields... It's OK OP I and many others know what you mean and I like you brought this up and trust me every jumped my **** too because In spite of glaring evidence of the **** thing those who speak out against the ****** up ridiculous combo of the Gladiator will always be shunned in this community every one will call you an idiot and it doesn't matter if you're a competent player every one on here will cast you out like a leper if you say anything negative about their precious Gladiator.

Seriously the **** thing is silly. What would impress me if Imperial players are so **** good at this game then leave your precious Gladiators at home and play with VSD's and squadrons. And hell us rebel players will leave our Assault Frigates at home... Let's see how the game goes then.... Let's see if your win streak changes without the Gladiator? Oh wait someone will cry oh but that's not fair Rebels have three capitals in wave one....right and the only somewhat decent and Armored ship we have is an Assault Frigate.. While the other two rebel ships are fast but yet still fragile..... "Oh but you deployment is ****** up and your not playing right" ***** please...like I said put your money were your mouth is and drop the GSD out of your games and see if things change for you.

bet alot of em are too smug to drop it... That GSD ain't nothing but a crutch for you imps.

Look, I know you are still mad at me but I have faced the very same lists and have crushed them. If you want to take them out you trap a Gladiator at a time. They go down fast then. Once one goes down you kill the next. Sure you lose a ship, sure it is HARD! It is nerve racking, but it is effective. It takes practice and nerves of steel.

It is about tactics. You let the GSD's comes in, you let them get close. If you are going slow enough or not having over lapping fields of fire on where the GSD will be (and trust me you can tell where they will be) then is it the GSD users fault?

you won't crush Darth Lupine, and I'm not mad at you , because you were rude and you know it...I don't **** with you! Got a billion other things I'd rather be doing than worry about you.

Yup, mad. A guy apologizes, tries and makes amends and is the bad guy. Thus is life.

I never said I could crush him

Rebels don't have the options to "crush". Now beat is a plausible option. Sure it may only occur one in three times but it is a possibility.

The more difficult question then is, can you 10-0 Gladiator-heavy lists? Losing a ship brings you closer to that 220 edge. My Imp opponent is not too big on more than one Gladiator, so he just brings Demolisher ACM to the table, I think I have learned how to deal with that. I don't have a lot of experience with multiple GSDs (probably will be getting during the Armada tournament gulp).

With the current rebels. Unless we are playing Fire Lanes it is difficult to 10-0 much. I won't even pretend I am WWPDSteven good.

I won't say if I'm good or not, we'll let the tournament decide, but I can say I table my sparring partner quite often, on any types of objectives. I play 100% Rebels.

Fear leads to anger.

Anger leads to hate.

Hate leads to suffering.

You may make a fine Imperial officer yet.

Lol Graves13. Well then, challenge accepted. No Glads, no guppies. 300 points, and I'll bring some squadrons for our next game. I'm perfectly willing to challenge myself.

I really hope the local stores run the Sullust event....need my ISD nooowwwww!!!

Three of our stores already have events scheduled. (See here)(and here)

...not to rub it in, or anything...
